Learned Friends

I have a question concerning the stowage bins on the late Tiger, im ready to buy some rivets but am concerned at the size that I should be considering 1/8".

Thanks to some helpfull people on this forum I have found a supplier but I really have not found any information that allows me to calculate the 1:1 size in re-scaling and am beginning to think that I may need to go smaller ....Any suggestions would be most welcome 8)

Hi Mark.

This is a crop from a shot I took of the side of the Bovington Tiger:

You should be able to scale the heads by measuring the width of the Armortek turret bin.

Whether you can get rivets small enough is another matter

Hi all,
the firm Dieter Knupfer offer rivets starting from ø 0,30 x 2 mm; head ø 0,45 mm. I think they are small enough.
Price are in Euro and the website is in German language,

Here is a source for really small rivets in the US:

They also have super small working hex bolts and more.

Hi Mark,
Have you considered dress maker pins. The heads are about the same scale, cut them short and super glue them in.
Worked for me.
Cheers Jeff Hyder.

I have just gone through the other halfs dress makers box and hey presto!

These pin heads are so much smaller than the size that I thought the rivets would have to be........

Thanks Jeff

Alfrado,

I just took a look at the "Knophershop" site you listed and it is great!

they have some small cone head bolts ( 1.2mm high X 2mm wide), different size wing nuts (about 2mm to about 6mm), decking of different types, as well as many, mnay different bolts and nuts

Thanks!
