Is anybody using the DX7 Spectrum 2.4 system to control the new motion pack along with the new selectable sounds, we need to upgrade from the DX6 to run the KT correctly, as we already run with Specktrums it seems the logical thing to do, I guess what i'm saying is it up to the job?

hello phil,

i am useing the dx7 on my kingtiger, no problems to report. its the same to use as the dx6 with the sound select on the joystick, only drawback is the barrel elevation is controled on one of the rocker switches so the barrel is either fully up or down but i set the limit swiches so there wasnt much movement as you hardly use this control.

regards, chris.

So the DX7 does'nt have a 3 position switch to operate the sounds function, that's not so good

Hello phil,

i havnt noticed the 3 postion switch, there are alot more switches on this model than the dx6, i will have a look later, that would be better for the sound select, if you go to there web site you can find out about the dx7 and see if those switches can be programed to do this,

cheers, chris.

Hi guys
I use the spectrum dx7's on my Helicopters and there is deffinatly a three position switch that can be asigned for the sounds.
The switches are about the same as the Futaba 7c which I use on my panzer.
Cheers

So there is definately a three position switch which can be used for the sounds selection function? Any chance of a photo of the said switch, it's not that I don't believe it has one, I just would like to take a look, I don't find the Spektrum web site too helpfull.

Hi Phil
Sorry for the delay I was partaking of the Magniers Cider on the patio,no
Tank driving or Heli flying now.
Spectrum DX7 photo as requested

My Panzer 111L is on a Futaba 7C and as in the Armortek Amplifier Manual you need to asign a proportional channel to the 3 position switch, which on the Futaba 7C is switch E.
I chose Channel 5 to asign to E.
Back to the Spectrum DX7. Photo.
You will see the top left switch is the 3 position switch just like on the Futaba, and its labeled as the flight mod switch "N" "1" and "2".
You just asign the AUX2 to the flight mod switch, the AUX2 being
proportional and the flight mode switch works it.
So you connect your Amplifier control cable "E" to AUX2 on the Spectrum
receiver.
On my Airwolf helicopter is fitted a Helicommand Giro setup and AUX2
is asigned to this giving "N" for positional mode under 5 metre altitude
"1" is Off and "2" is Horizontal mode for normal higher flying,on the 3
position flight mode switch.
I thought a brief story of how the Spectrum DX7 is used on my Heli setup
would show that it will work just like the Futaba's 6EX and 7C does, but the switches have different names.
The Manuals look complicated at first because the radio's do a lot more for
Airplanes and Helicopters than we need on the Tanks.
The Spectrum is a lovely Quality radio,so if you invest in one I can point
you to the relevent pages in the manual if you need help.
Cheers
Phil
