Hi guys and gals, my name is Alex and I recently put my first payment down for one of the last available Comets, Ive wanted one since they were announced!
Well, in the scheme of introducing myself, I'm a law student at the University of Cumbria, and this is my first experience of large scale tanks, although I have owned a fair few 1/16 models.
I'd just like to take this oppurtunity to thank mark and gill for their patience, as theyve been very accomodating with regards to paying for my model, and have put up with my annoying phone calls.
Just out of curiosity, I'm 19, does that make me the youngest Armortek model owner?
Looking forward to meeting/talking to you all!
Alex

Hello Alex, this is my first Armortek tank, I'm 73, so you are never to old or to young. At 19 you will have many interesting years build time. I started building models aircraft/boats etc, in my teens. I feel so excited with this Comet....I could be 19 again....problem was at 19 young ladies had most of my attention...Mick

Cheers for the welcome lads! Mick, I know what you mean about the ladies, a lot of them are very curious as to why Ive just spent as much as my mates spend on their cars on a tank, but still at least I'm different :p.

Hi Alex,
Welcome to the forum and the hobby, the pictures you have seen will not pre-pair you for the size of these beasts
if you want to see some running you are welcome to join us down at Leighton Hall. I am down in Kendal and the Hall is just out side Carnforth.
Paul.

Hi Alex,
Speaking for myself you never get sick of building scale models, the women are a very expensive hobby.
Welcome to the forum and I also wish I were 19 years old. HO HUM.
Regards Roy

Haha, Paul M, as i said on the phone, I'm the youngest member to PAY FOR his own tank! hehehe and oi, I'll have you know my comet shall not be a target, more so a freedom fighter against all of those darn Tigers!
Paul W, I know what you mean, I was at tankfest on the weekend, and Mark kindly let me drive the Comet, flippin 'eck as they say, she was bigger than I thought, yet was so smooth and easy to operate. the next problem is needing a bigger car, my little 500 will never get up Cumbria hills with the Comet in the back if it slows right down carrying no weight at all!
Roy, I know what you mean about the ladies, Ive decided to put them to once side and get a tank , well just for the time being
, i'm sure i'll be pulled back into reality soon enough when i see a pretty face :p. And you may wish to be 19, but you rest assured i could do with your experience
.
Looking forward to meeting you all at the open day!

If you're really lucky, you can combine both. I recently found out that my stepson's girlfriend was in the OTC at university and played with AS90's during her summer holidays
Something to look out for in Fresher's Week...
Adrian.

They are too expensive in any case. Better off buying another Tank instead...
