Hi fellas.

Exciting times in our hobby with new releases coming thick and fast or so the bank manager says  I have been sorting through my photo albums on my computer and some album type ones, and thought I would put something on the forum regarding how the hobby has changed for me, its only a short time ago that I would sit at my computer and wonder at the marvels that Vince Abbott produced and the dioramas at Peter Shaws and how I desperately wanted to get involved in the hobby as soon as I could. I would also like to say a personal thanks to Lee Sellers yes Lee you :) it was your outstanding contribution to the hobby in the form of the work you have done on other peoples models that got me inspired to start offering my services to others "Up north" as they say, I have never told you that ...until now but thanks, and so now we have Lee down south and me up north and I think we are far enough apart to ensure we do not step on each others toes  .
My first Armortek model came from the first batch of mid Tigers pre Mark and Gill era and how they have improved as we all know, so even though its been said befor I would like to say again a big thank you for the massive boost they have given our hobby in the form of improved kits and new models  .
2010 has not been a good year for me indeed the last 3 months I nearly quit tanks all together, one or two close friends on the forum know about this, and I thank them for their support, however this is not an agony column so I will just say thank you to Chris and Robin and a few others for being very patient in waiting for your parts, things are looking better now and I will soon be back on the case.
I have included a few photo's below and would like to say a final thanks to all the owners ... you know who you are for helping me to get going with Paul's Tank Workshop.

I suppose I have been active in the Armortek hobby for some time also. I bought into the second batch of Tiger 1's (the early Tiger's) in John Spalding's day. In those days it was all about the endless waits for the models but then Mark and Gill came to the rescue and quickly turned all that around to the splendid service and products seen today. I honestly think that if they hadn't come to the rescue the Armortek name would be a distant memory now. I was also inspired by Vince Abbott's modelling skills and the products he offered. He set the standard others have now taken up the baton in the persuit of ever better models. I used to regularly attend the meetings at Peter Shaw's, spending most of my time running my model in the wooded area whilst Peter, Vince, his father Hugh, John Sander and others set up the dioramas and cameras. They were good times and I hope that Vince returns to active 1/6th armour modelling, he seems to be very busy with film work and his 1:1 Swimwagon at present, which like his models is an internationally recognised vehicle.

Hi Guys,

Wow, great photos Paul, I have just realised after reading your post, I have been an owner since the first Tiger which was the mid version in 2003, this was the second model after the Panzer 4, and now I have five Armortek models  8) doesn't time fly when your have fun   Yes the models have changed for the better since Mark and Gill took over, plus the sales & customer services girl is gorgeous  :P.

I agree with everything you have both said that Vince has been an inspiration to us all, but we have to acknowledge the parts Tim Catton and Steve Winston made for Vince and the rest of us, without which none of our models would have been so photogenic 8) I am always in ore of Paul Morris and Lee Sellers, they have added that extra dimension to this hobby with their weathering techniques that most of us cannot achieve without their help. Great work and a big thanks to all you guys for your services and help over the years :D 8)

Paul.

Then there's also Mike Stannard and Dave Dibbs, both of whose attention to detail on the parts they produce for us is exceptional

We're a lucky bunch of folks who can build these things and have the accessories made available to us to make each machine unique.

Happy to help

That's a great line up of vehicles - I love the JagdPanther, though it does look like it's lost a fight with a lawn mower :!: :!:
