Nearly there !!!!

Post by Dennis Jones »

I know it's pretty bog standard but I am happy with it, will probably add some extras as time goes on.. Just have to sort some camouflage and weathering but will probabaly leave it till after it's debut at the model exhibition at Shepton mallett. Funny how colour looks different under different light conditions.

Hi Dennis.
Nothing wrong with that my friend and I love the colour...the tank looks good as well  Only kidding the colour is great and looks like a really clean and tidy job well done, one advantage I suppose of doing it the way you have is you are left with a kind of clean sheet of paper as it wer, and you can add any and all extras as and when you wish, I think thats the beuty of this hobby there is all the maintenance and tinkering to look forward to for years and years  .
Cheers Paul.

I can only echo David, very nice model and car, but how are you going to get the tank in the car?

Thanks for your kind comments guys. I will post some more pics when I get the wheels and tracks on. David & Allan it's actually a kit car called a GCS Hawke which is a Morgan lookalike, which I built back in 2000, it has a Rover 3.5 ltr V8 under the bonnet and has done about 26000 miles since I built it. Been to Spain 4 times and France about 10. No chance of getting the tank in it.

Road trials complete.

Post by Dennis Jones »

Road trials complete, although I like Phil had a bit of an accident with the dreaded pea gravel, luckily didn't break the track but just came halfway off the idler wheel. I do have a problem with the electronics though, if I disconnect the battery completely and the after a period of several hours recconnect it, when I switch on the power supply (with the TX on I hasten to add) the right hand track goes into reverse for about 2 secs which proved to be a bit disastrous when it first happened, luckily no damaged caused. I have tried it since and as long as I leave the battery connected there doesn't appear to a problem. I will have to speak to Mark I think unless anybody else has had the problem. As you can see from the photos a bit more needs doing to the paint job and weathering etc.

hello Dennis,

it sounds like the binding between the radio and receiver, on planes and helicopters when you bind the radio to the receiver one of the joysticks needs to be in the forward or reverse setting (usually the stick on the ratchet), on these tanks we don't need that, you need to bind with both joysticks in the neutral position or both in the central position,
hope this makes sense,

regards, chris,

Hi Dennis

I think the problem with your right track going into reverse is that the failsafe is probably still at factory preset, which is 10%. You need to set this to 50% so that you are at neutral.

It tells you in the manual how to change it, however if you are having problems, I'll give you a hand at Shepton over the weekend.

See you there

Mick

TRACK REVERSE

Post by Graham Ord »

Thats the same problem I had with my P4,(see main on off kill switch in the P4 section) When the transmitter was set to 49/50% everything calmed down and is now OK.

Thanks for all the suggestions. As far as the failsafe is concerned that only operates on channel 3 (which is normally throttle on model aircraft) I am using single stick on right hand side which is channel 1 and 2.
I have spoken to Gill and will send details in an email to Mark and see what he has to say.
