G’day Fellows
Can you still get Animatronic (spelling) figures?
I have seen a few in videos on the forum but no idea on where to get them, either complete unit and in kit.
Also I have seen some front machine guns move I believe they would be controlled by a random mini server motor where do you get these from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Timbo

Hi Tim,
The only place I know that still sells animatronic figures is below. They are very expensive
but do add that little bit more to our tanks.

Hi Tim
Yes at the moment. i am working on a set of four, but will not be ready yet. still under test ect.
The MG, is moved by a simple servo, i machine a small slot in the ball (rear) were the mg fits into, glue a 2mm x 5mm alloy flat pate into the ball, the other end fit a ball joint to connect to servo veer a linkage. then I make a bracket with a 3mm slot cut out for the 2mm x 5mm plate to fit through, this stops the ball from spining when its moved left to right.

On the subject, does anyone know of a source of actuator cable ?
I don't know the proper term but it's the steel-wire-in-a-sheath stuff that Vince used to animate his bow machine gun - it looks like bicycle brake cable except I believe it is quite a bit finer.

Hello Tim.
We all just make up our own mate, all you need is an ultrabright L.E.D. and a servo extension lead chop one end off the extension lead and wire up to the L.E.D after you have fitted it into the M.G. barrel, you will need to take the barrel apart to get the wires to go through then just solder the ends onto the lead and simply fit it into the socket that Mark has sorted out on the sound board {white socket} then as soon as you select the M.G. sound the electric pulse is automatically sent to light up the L.ED. in sinc with the sound, you will have no trouble at all, then just the simple servo set up for movement.
Hope this helps mate any questions feel free.
Cheers Paul.

Adrian,
You might try a model shop specialising in r/c aircraft as they use them to control flaps, rudder etc.
Dennis.

Hi, Tim
I am also interested in an Animatronic Commander, a rebuilding of a Figure of DID or Dragon.
I have found a link in the old Armortek forum. At that time Vince Abbott left figures for his tiger and from the milinst.com had used Wizard 3 Control Board part 1-964 to the control. Who has build the Animatronic to the Figures I dont no.
