Sherman in the Snow

I just spent the afternoon in sub zero temperatures giving the Sherman a run in the snow. It performed impecably and ploughed through everything, even the deepest snow. Compared to the Tiger its much better in the snow. The Tiger's tracks quickly get filled with snow which then binds up and starts to jam things, whilst this does not happen with the more open Sherman suspension. I wonder if this is an indication of how the full size vehicles performed because I had read that the Tiger crews removed the first road wheels behind the sprocket to prevent mud and snow clogging the wheels. The Tiger has better traction than the Sherman on slippery hard ground and mine appears ok in soft mud, but the snow turns to ice in the wheels causing the jam.
