Things left to do,
Add details to turret top
Build turret bin and detail
Detail and fit gun mantlet
Base coat turret
Add camo pattern
Weather
I am planning on doing a SS-Pz-Abt-101 scheme, probably tank 211 (Ostuf. Wessel), Has anybody eles done this tank ? Dont want any duplication.

Very nice, well done Steve!
And SS101 my kind of tank !
And I love the weathering, excellent work.
211 are ok as long as you keep away from 212 who are spoken for me
Will you do the first 211 or the later 211?
She was lost early in the Normandy battle and a 1 company Tiger hull with a reused turret was later remembered as 211.

Early 211:

Mono gun sight and small muzzle.
Later 211:

Twin gun sight and big muzzle.
In both cases the cupola was without drain slits
Cheers

Steve,
Fantastic looking Tiger. Wow really great details, an ispiration to us other Tiger builders. The weathering on the shackles and jack is awesome - not too mention the engine!
I can't wait to get mine out of the boxes! There's going to be a whole platoon of Abt 101 tigers by the sounds of it - ok by me! (Mine will be Abt 102 though!)
Looking forward to you next post (and wish there were more!)

Thanks for the comments guys
Kent,
You always amaze me with the quality of your research,
I will be doing the early 211 and as such have now filled in the water drain slots in the coupola (The Photobucket site is down at the moment so i will post a updated shot when it is back on line). I have also filled the holes for the Pilze (2 ton crane) as these were not fitted to this tank.
Dale,
My work bench is on wheels, so when i want to get the Tiger down i move it to were there is a bit more room and drive down my car ramps ( just got to remember to chock the wheels and have a good heavy tool cabinet on the bottom of the work bench to stop it overballancing

).
The turret roof is standard with the late Tigers, i had to use my dremmel a bit on the loaders hatch cut out to make it fit the Armorpax hatch.
Brown,
I used Milliput for the Zim (lots and lots of packets), Milliput is a 2 part putty that when mixed is workable for about 1 hour and sets in 2 to 3 hours, Not sure if its available in the USA but there must be a equivalent.
To apply the Milliput i mix up a lump about the size of a golf ball and roll it out between sheets of grease proof paper to about 2mm thick, place the sheets of milliput onto the tank and press into place, It can get a bit sticky so spray a bit of water on it. The patter is made with a tool i formed from some scrap steel (It looks a bit like a small spade). to form the pattern i just press the tool into the Milliput to form verticle coloums.
Word of warning:- Applying Zim will drive you mad, it takes ages.

Steve
