Hi all!

Thought I would introduce myself as I have just ordered the Panzer III (the last available one).

I live in California, but I am a Brit who has been in the US for about 14 years (New York and Los Angeles).

I have built a a couple of tanks (Tamiya 1/16 Leopard and M26 Pershing) in the last few years, but nothing like an Armotek model.

However, I have been building large scale cars models and also R/C helicopters that I build and fly (including a Jet Turbine powered one).

I have a website http://www.scalereplica.com that I document a lot of these on and I intend to also document the build of the Panzer III.

I also scuba dive and my other hobby is underwater photograph (see http://www.digitaloceans.net although I don't get to do this as much as I use to.

My other hobby/ interest is CNC machining which I hope will come in useful during the Panzer III build. I currently have a CNC mill (Seig KX3) which I will be replacing soon with a larger Novakon N-135, a small CNC lathe, a 12"x12" CNC router and a 4'x4' CNC router that I built myself. I still consider myself a beginner at the CNC stuff, but enjoy the process of learning and adding to my skills.

I have managed to earn a little "pocket money" with my CNC mill by making aluminum mounts (see http://www/spindlemounts.com) for high speed spindles that people have been buying on ebay.

Anyway that's enough about me!.

I am pleased to become part of this comunity and I know I will be asking lots of questions and looking for advice as I get into the Panzer build.

Now back to Amazon.com to order some more books on the Panzer III :D

Hi David

Welcome! Congratulations on the Panzer III. :D

Sounds like you are well prepared for one of these kits. Look forward to watching your progress and seeing all the neat parts you create with your machines.

Although I am in Northern California, my office is Newport Beach and I am down there from time to time. Hope we can meet some day along with David Price.

Best regards
Tim

Hi David, welcome to the forum.

I'm blown away by your really fascinating websites! I'd like to chat more about your CNC eq sometime - I too am interested in this. At this time I only have a mill, but would love a lathe. I also dable in white metal spin casting. I have a few pix of some of my parts in my gallery here on Armortek. I need to make a cool website like you have! Looking forward to seeing your PIII build - if they are anything like your heli's and cars they will be fantastic.

Kind regards,
Bob Morey

Hi David, I see that you have an Avro Helicopter. Well out of interest it was designed by our fellow Armortek tanker Vincent Abbott for his boss at the time Neil Scanlan. Both Vincent and myself were employed at Neils animatronic workshop in North London. How do you rate the model?

Hi Robin,

I really enjoyed building the Avro, a great piece of engineering and was a pleasure to build.
