Re: British Tanker Dollies
I have a question regarding the British Tank Coveralls / PixieSuits.
I believe they were worn over normal battledress, but was there any rank or insignia worn on them?
Ive not seen any info or pix online.
I have 2 British tank crew and I have found some sergeant strips & some RTR flashes that i got for the commander but now i am thinking that i should not fit them.
Cheers
Tim

Re: British Tanker Dollies
Tim, this is where you'll find the definitive answer:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Men-Inside-Met ... R1AG3N4VBH
Dick is often on the Allied Forum on Missing Lynx, you could try putting a post there for him.
Another thing to consider is that tank crews in NW Europe, commanders in particular, became very aware of the sniper threat and conspicuous wearing of rank badges fell out of fashion.
For what it's worth, I'm just (only just) old enough to remember the pixie suits and although I never possessed one, I can't recall ever seeing any rank or formation badges on them.
Regards.
