Volker,
Pardon me for asking; Is the Rad and Kette magazine available in English? Probably not based on the title?

Looks like a great magazine for model builders - one I would subscribe to in a minute <if I could read german>!

Hi,
IMHO "Rad und Kette" is worth its money if you are interested in "heavy machines in model" in general. Or you are considerung AFV's in 1/16.
Only 1/3rd deals with military models, and most of it in 1/16, dealing with well known kits and new releases.
If you are interested in 1/6th AFV's stay tuned at forums like this one. You will find more and better tips online.
BTW Mr. Mieneif is building his models only for himself, no kits available, as far as I know. Great and friendly modeller!!

Hmmmm....
Would this be of any interest? Google will translate enough to allow non-germans to understand.

How I wish I was a more competent engineer.

Guido,
I totally agree - I love earthmovers, trucks, and of course tanks too! Its a magazine tailered for me. But its a bit expensive just to buy just for the pictures! Perhaps I need to learn German. Hmm maybe just a sample issue wouldn't hurt!
Volker thanks for the reply!
Steven, nice try on the Google translator. I got an error from the link, but no worries -I use the feature from time to time when looking at German model sites etc. Works pretty well.

Certainly an amazing piece of engineering, pity, it wasn't in 1/6th scale.

Hello Chaps
That is why Armortek do a better Kit and the scale in 1.6th. At least you can get upgrades in 1.6th and not in 1.10th.
Armortek do a Fantastic Job and i cant sing their praise high enough.
Dont forget this is an ARMORTEK FORUM.

This is a typical model tank made in Germany, every details included. A dream model I could imagine. But the price? That's a figure I can't imagine.
Can't imagine a similar detailed but in 1/6 scale tank released by Armortek or anyone else---at a reasonable price.
BTW, the basic model of this 1/10 Panther, was made by a Taiwanese named
Jeffrey Tsang a few years ago. Without so much of details, it was a good model already---except 1/10 scale is not a popular choice in today's market. He quiz manufacturing tank after this one.

Thanks Volker
I was only interested in the machine tool parts, like how he made the road wheels.Just like the real tanks.I have books showing how the Germans mfg
there tanks. And with all the books on US tanks I never seen any pictures on how the Sherman tank was mfg.
So this model showed in more detail then most of the books could show.
I studied machine tool operations in college, but I only made the sampless of parts.I want to test myself to see if I can learn from others here on this form. And try to make my own parts, for my Armortek models.I have many of them, and I'm just a avg. builder.
I live in the mid-west and never been to a musuem where they have a German tank,But today I got a book "panzer tracks" on the panther I want to use it to made blue prints to make my parts from.
Thank You from Dan

Hello Dan
I think a good book for the panther is:
Achtung Panzer - No.: 4 Panther, Jagdpanther & Brummbär
there are such as sectional drawing from the wheels .
