Hi Guys
It has been a long haul, but finally I have all the parts made for the Tiger 1 and 2 cupolas, the last parts to be made were the periscope rubber head rests and the mounting ring. Now I have to assemble one to take pictures and write the mounting and assembly instructions.
Here are pictures of the finished product.
Cupola showing interior view with hatch open.
Close up of head rests and mounting ring.
When setting this cupola up for photographs I though the hatch was to close to the periscope covers to clear the MG mount ring. Thought for a moment I had made it wrong, was not until I placed a MG ring in position I realized it was correct. The mounting ring is only over five periscope covers for this reason, it allows the hatch to open. Always wondered why the MG ring was the way it was. Learn something new everyday.
Interior view of cupola.
Close up of periscopes, mounts and head rests.
Close up of periscope showing wing nuts, clamps, springs and rubber periscope gasket.
Rubber head rests and mounting ring.
Rubber head rest and periscope gasket showing flexibility.
I will start shipping assembled cupolas and kits as soon as I have completed the instructions.
Regards
Mike
