Hi All,
I am putting an order in with the caster for Cones For the Panzer III and U Shackels for the KT and Tiger 1. As I will not be keeping a large stock anymore, and they take a while to get castings, if you are interested please email me, so that I can include your order. The Cones are 50p each and the U Shackels are £6.00 each, these are made of brass, U shackels come either as a Nut & Bolt or Clevis Pin. Below see photos.

Hello Steve, This has probably been discussed before but just as an update and review --could you go over with us where and how many of these particular cones are positioned on the PIII. I seem to remember that more than one size was used in various places and I'm having trouble determining which cones are which on my small line drawings.
Thanks!

Lawrence,
Its sort of hard to describe the positions of the cones without pictures and/or diagrams; I think this will be sort of a tough one for Steve reply on. What i would suggest is to review Stephen White's build under the PIII forum, he has quite a few picture of them in place. Also, again as Stephen has suggested, the Panzer Tracts 3-3 on the PIII would be an excellent resource for determining these sorts of details.
Just a suggestion - sort of get you started with what is at hand.
Hope this helps,

Hi Lawrence
I think Jim is absolutely right, I lost count after the first 50. As to the position and size, I picked the most popular size to cast. Stephen is the expert on the Panzer III and would be the best source of information for position and quantity.

Hello Steve,
Well I guess put me down for at least 50 then and of course let me know about when, where and how to send payment. PayPal possibly?
So I take it that the method for replacing actual needed fasteners on the model would be to drill out for countersunk flat head bolts and then fill and epoxy on your cone, or is there a sturdier way to fasten them?
Thanks

Sorry guys, I've been away for a week. I counted 89 cone head bolts on the Pz III, all the same size plus the four larger ones on the gun mantlet. Somewhere I posted the locations but I can't now find the post. Someone might remember and help me out. The PanzerTracts 3-3 does show them all.
Steve has taken the trouble to tap them M3 and I've use a bolt where I think there is a danger of the bolt head being knocked. For those that aren't vulnerable, I've used a piece of bonsai wire (soft 3mm) and simply superglued them, which is much faster.

Stephen
