Well, open day 2009 has come and gone and we would like to say, thank you every one for your kind comments both on the day and subsequently. We are pleased that so many came and all had a good day out.

For 2010 we would like to change it a bit and introduce a wider range of activities and competitions and invite you to make suggestions here for the event. We plan to announce the dates much earlier this time so that those traveling from further away have time to make arrangements. We are keen to develop this event and welcome all your ideas no matter how weird and wonderful.

Great news Gill & Mark, The open Day itself is a brilliant day out for all of us as it is, but if you want ideas, how about an extra competition catogory for scratch builds, that tank transporter was something else as well as the very nice dozer lol, how about a challenging set tank driving coarse where certain obstacles have to be negotiated against the clock, thats all i can think of for now but i'm sure i'll come up with more, Oh lastly those large wood chips on the tank coarse outside seem to break track links and get jammed in the sprockets maybe a finer grade could be an idea.
cheers for now.
clive.

I love the idea of a tank driving challenge course, perhaps it could be trialed at a Bovington Tank Fest next summer? I would hope that the Army could get some good publicity out of it!

Another area, is to encourage people like me with part-built tanks to show their build in progress?

I believe that Dragon have only produced Russian Women figures and there is no Armortek T34, so a Miss Armortek Tank Commander competition is not on the cards.......

Please could someone be brave enough to volunteer to run a demonstration on how to paint/weather tanks, for novices such as myself a practical demo would be very valuable.

Some ideas to be thought about, or not!

Steve

Look on the bright side richie, you could paint the underside of your tank when it hits the trap mate.
