Hi all,
In no set order, here are some pics of my early Tiger build. Trying to get as much detail on it as I can using all the info on this forum and from a growing collection of Tiger books! Just as I think am getting somewhere I find another picture with some details that I never new existed lol....so probably will be a slow build.
Will post some more as progress is made.
Regards
Keith
Decided to do it in Abt 505 around June 43, similar to my 1/16 Tamiya without the whitewash, using 'Tigers on the Eastern Front' as the main source of reference.
Just before I took it all apart again!

Trial fit of deck supports.
First attempt at some colour....needs rust and oil yet and might recess the hub caps.

Hi Keith,
Outstanding! Nice to see an early production Tiger under construction. Excellent detailing and if the paint job comes out like your 1:16th version.

Wow that will be a nice Tiger!
Very nice!
Kind regards
Tim

That is indeed an awesome paint job on the 1/16th Tiger.

Keith,
You tiger is looking fantastic. You are adding some superb details. The weathering effects are fantastic on your 1/16 T1, and I am sure they will be excellent when scaled up on the 1/6 Tiger. Thanks for sharing some pix of your work - you are making great progress.
Keep us posted of your build. I am anxious to see your Abt 505 paint scheme.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Inspiration to get on and finish this little job.
Biggest problem is getting the right detail for the model, there seems to be a fair bit of overlap between early, mid and late Tigers. If I get anything wrong please let me know
Does anyone know where I can get the dimensions of the track pin return plates? Going to start work on that area next.
Regards
Keith

Excellent work Keith. Yes there are many small details different on early Tigers. I went many ways to get the relevant info and I'm sure you will as well. For the track guide I may be of help with attached drawing.

Any further questions are wellcome. Most of the details can be seen in my gallery.

Thanks very much Roland.
The detail you achieve is outstanding. Not sure I can get to that level though. Looking through your gallery has given me many more things to think about, like the bumps stops and detail work on the pannier supports.
The link to your drawing doesnt seem to work....would you be able to try it again for me? Much appreciated.
Kind regards
Keith

Keith,
Your build is looking really good, there is so much detail on these tanks available on this forum now, you will never finish. Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming.

Thanks Roland, that is exactly what I need. Very much appreciated.
Thank you Allan, and I can see what you mean about never finishing with so many things to add. I seem to be further away from completion now than when I started.
Kind regards
Keith
