I have decided to have a brake from posting on the forum for a while . Over the past five years , I have put a lot of time and effort into this forum , with the only idea to help other modellers learn new skills , plus ' Hint's and tip's' on building these kits . I hope someone has pick up something from me over the years ..In the early Days I could not wait to get onto this forum every day to see what amazing things that Vince Abbott and all the other modellers where doing !! This is where I pick up most of my treight from . It would be nice to see some new owners posting on the forum .... Dale

This is very sad news I think your builds are
brilliant and Nole's paint jobs are so realistic.
It was your imput that sorted out the stug roof
problems for me and that is what it is all about.

I hope your break is short and you get back here soon

Understand you in full my friend and have a shorter brake myself at present.
I am sure (hope) you will be back later with new juicy photos for us to see.

Don’t think people realise how much work it is to post sagas here.
Time better spent in building instead.
But this forum would never have become so popular if it was not for the ones taking their time and posted here.
Hope more of the kit owners might participate and not only be here as passive members.

A fast look at the member list revels only about 10% stands for 90% of the action here.

So Dave don´t worry taking a brake it is only natural while building tanks for years.
I think we all feel that sometimes.

I too will miss your postings Dale, especially as you have already built two of the same models which I too possess

Kent, at the risk of further upsetting the applecart , the statistics are not as dramatic as that, with the "top ten" posters only accounting for just over 40% of the total messages.

This is the one forum I have always managed to follow, even when work has taken me away from home, as I enjoy seeing the progress and engineering feats which abound here.

I've not been posting recently due in part to work commitments and also because I am restoring the Sherman prototype and so don't want to confuse other Sherman owners by describing parts which differ from the production version.

I will be posting some generic photos soon regarding the restoration as I feel they would be of interest and benefit to both Sherman owners specifically and the owners/runners of other vehicles.

I cannot add much to what the others have said except to say, hurry back. Your contributions to the forum are invaluable. You and the posts of your work will be sorely missed.

You and I know this is actually just your ploy to have the number of my posts finally catch up to yours. (joke)

And to everyone who may read this. Firstly, Its not that we new guys are shy or reluctant to shed any questions to those the more experienced. It maybe because we are waiting for our tanks to arrive. However, I think that all the new guys who enters this great forum enjoy the commitment shown by Dale and indeed everyone who contributes with photo's and those who advise. All of which add to the learning process for us the less experienced. All I can say Dale, is THANKYOU for everything and only hope your break will be short.

i have enjoyed you posts so don't stop now,your input has been great and ihave viewed them time after time ,not all builders are computer users ,i have only learnt to use the internet and to type to follow this forum so your contribution is valueble,i am very slow on my build at the moment and enjoying the good weather,but i still look every day,and your posts are always worth a look

This is sad news as your input has great value on the collective hobby we all enjoy. However, I fully understand your position as in the past you have not only dedicated your time to your own postings you have been kind enough to do mine and others as well within Australia. It probably should be said that its time for the other modellers (me included) to have a go at the photo bucket to show what builds we are acheiving and to gain the constructive advice that has saddled you with your now "legendary" expertise. I think also that it should be said other modellers may not have the time to commit to regular build programs and this could be the reason for the lack of dialog and photos. I am sure that at some point in the future you will burst back onto the forum and once again dazzle us with your expertise, knowledge and advice. Until then have a good break and we will keep in contact via the usuall mode my friend.

Your just burned out. You need to drive your tanks for a couple of weeks and come back. I need guys like you to post pics, I am not home and cant work on my tank and am learning from all of your skill and am sure to have lots of questions once I start..

I'm certain when you reappear on the forum, you will amaze us all with your KT.Don't know how ,but each model you complete surpasses the last for detail and finish.The Sherman to me looked more realistic than the genuine item.May I also that this time to thank you for your help on my Tiger.It's always good to bounce ideas of you on the phone,so keep in touch.
I will make a concerted effort to learn the photobucket tango.
