Hi to you all and there seems to be lot's of you on here!.
I am posting this for my dad, kt on order,he find's computers
Just a note on paint we have had real trouble in finding ral 7028 dark yellow but after a phone call to the tank museum libary asking what paint they used on their restored tiger 1, we found the following the paint (chip's) were tested finding it to be ral 8000.
We have tested this at my friends car bodyshop and we are very happy with the results. Also all other ral colour's are available.
Hope this helps

Hi Martin,
And a friendly Welcome to you and your father.
Yes, RAL8000 is ok for Bovington’s Tiger I as that is the color the German used in Africa. And as you probably know #131 was captured in Tunisia.
RAL8000 is not a good choice for a Tiger II.
The book says some left over quantity of RAL8000 was used on vehicles after the war in Africa but as Tiger II was introduced more then a year after Africa that color was never on a Tiger II.
Go for RAL7028 instead but please notice the German changed that system after the war so RAL7028 today is not the same as the war 7028
Bl*dy Germans (please no offence all you German builders here...)
Cheers
Kent

Martin & Father
A Warm Welcome to the club and congratulations with the KT...
If you want to make an authentic build you can ask you're questions here and your answer will follow.
Off course if you want to paint it pink (that'll be the first) your free to do...
I'v red that there's a real T-34 somewhere in England that a father bought for his son wich he painted in pink...
So you see crazy isn't so crazy here...
Greetings from Belgium

Hello Martin,
I hope the new job is going well and welcome to the Forum. I could have saved you a lot of bother over this Dunkelgelb issue. The correct colour is RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb nach Munster and as others have already stated this no longer appears on the RAL chart which in any case has been modified since 1945. Currently Greg is painting his late Panther Dunkelgelb and many others have their favourite mixes.
I personally favour White Ensign colours or alternatively look on Milweb and see if you can get some paint from some of the manufacturers on there. In my experience the car mixing places are a waste of space. I am currently painting my Firefly but the Panther is next.
Give me a phone call if you want any help.
Regards,
Will.
