Hi All

Here's the first L60 casing and projectile proto. The Pzgr Patr 39 warhead is the first attempt. Some minor fixes will be done on the next one before molding. I also had a second casing type (without the crimps in the neck) but had a misshap on the lathe  The casing is no more. Start again tomorrow.

The boxes in the background are for the Panzer IV

These will be completely painted with markings like the others. Transport boxes and other types of rounds to follow shortly. I should have some time this week to devote to PIII ammo.

Tim

Thanks Antony.

Panzer III/Pak 38 ammo that I will be producing will include:
Pzgr Patr 39, 40 and 40/1, Spring Patr 38.

Here's a few casings showing the two types and the Pzgr Patr 40. I also started the first transport box proto. I'll post a photo as soon as I have enough rounds to fill it.

Wish I had a Panzer III to photo these on.

Progress

These are the four projectiles I will have available in 5cm. The markings are photoshopped but represent what will be on the finished product. I'm planning on making the wood transport box that held four rounds for starters followed by possibly the 6-round box and metal style transport box(not in metal).

Hi Jim

Thanks. Multiple masters of each type are completed and ready to be molded. Here's a few with a quick paint job and what the markings will look like in color. Now onto the transport box.

Thanks Bob. Hi Jim

Making very slow progress on the 5cm transport box. This is the very first attempt and does not represent, exactly, what the final version will look like. Latch detail is incomplete at the moment and interior ammo holder will not be as thick as the one photographed.

I'm making improvements and will show three available finishes. Unfinished Wood, Painted Green and DAK Painted Sand/Tan with (Tr.)Tropen markings.

Tim, Any updates on when the P3's L60 ammo and boxes are going to be ready for sale? And, if you are still going to make the L42 ammo and boxes?

Hi Jim

I apologize for the delay. The answer to both your questions is Yes. I'm trying to come up with an acceptable latch on the 5cm box. Micro brass parts are not my specialty.

I'm trying to get caught up on existing orders for the other ammo types and boxes as well as some other parts.. I have molded and cast some 5cm to sample painting and marking and they are ready to go. I just need some quality time with the transport box development and they'll be ready to go.

Again, sorry for the wait. I know you have been waiting for 5cm ammo for a long time. Thanks for your continued interest.

Kind regards
Tim

I guess I needed and "Update Fix" to get me through......(I'm much better now.)

THank you for all your efforts.....and, putting up with me.

Hi everyone

Just an update on the 5cm ammo. For anyone who would like these rounds in the painted resin, they are available for order. However, because mini brass latches and hinges are not my forte, and there fore not cost effective, the flip-top style transport cases are on hold for now. I will be happy to make a simple crate style patronenkasten for those interested. Pictured below. Wood finish, Green finish or DAK finish.

However, I am in the process of producing 5cm L42 and L60 rounds and spent casings in aluminum. They will be anodized in brass color and the projectiles will be painted. They will have all markings applied as well. I felt this will make a much nicer end product.

The other ammo types I have available will also follow in all aluminum. They are being made on a CNC lathe using dimensions from the actual WWII ammunition manuals and measurements taken from real ammo rounds. Pricing is yet to be determined.

Ammo types I hope to include (depending on costs):

5cm L42 Pzgr Patr. 39/1 Kwk 39, Pzgr Patr. 40 Kwk 40 and Sprgr Patr. 38 Kwk 39
5cm L60 Pzgr 39 Kwk 39, Pzgr Patr. 40 Kwk 40 and Sprgr Patr. 38 Kwk 39
7.5cm (Kurtz) Pzgr Patr. 39 Kwk 40, Sprgr Patr. 34 Kwk 40
7.5cm Pzgr Patr. 39 Kwk 40, Sprgr Patr. 34 Kwk 40
7.5cm Pzgr Patr. 39 Kwk 42, Sprgr Patr. 34 Kwk 42
7.5cm PAK 40 Pzgr Patr. 39 Pak 40, Sprgr Patr. 34 Pak 40
8.8cm Pzgr Patr. 39/1 Kwk 43, Sprgr Patr. 43 Kwk 43

I hope to have some photos of first parts in a few weeks.

For those who have purchased ammo and boxes from me already, I plan on offering an "upgrade price" if you prefere the metal ammo over the resin ones you already have.

Sorry for the delays and thanks to everyone who has already purchased from me as well as those who have shown interest. I really appreciate it.

Best regards
Tim
