Jens, welcome to our world. I raced r/c cars for over 33years, in Europe and in U.S.A. I started in 1969 with 1/8th i.c., and finished up with your class, i.e 1/5th, racing a Lauterbacher. The photos of your model look like an FG with a Zenoah engine. I also have completed in 1/10th electric, 1/8th i.c. off road, and 1/4 scale on road. You will find like me that r/c tanks are a little slower, and at my age, really suit my pace!

Hello Robin,
yes, that is the FG-Evo with some extras.
Before I had models of Serpent in 1:8.
Those were with that 2 course transmission very fast.
Here times a photo of the finished model. That has already fun made because of the technology.
Most of all I such a thing always built. Hope which I the tank also reasonably built get.

Hi Jens, I too am a new member and awaiting delivery of Panzer III in September. I also used to race with Robin Ellis, I started with 1/8th IC in 1977 (2 wheel drive, no suspension, no diffs and modified aero engines). I raced in UK and Europe till 1998 (Picco) and during that time and up until 2008 was involved with the AMB computer timing software, both writing programs and running meetings.
Dennis.

Hi guys,
I just joined up and I'm also waiting for the PZIII kit to be re-released in Aug/Sept.
Been interested in WWII since I was a kid and the interest is still with me in my middle age.
I only started to get involve in 1/6 scale fairly recently via the Dragon action figures, the US Jeep, kubelwagen, howitzer.
Time to get serious...
Cheers...

Hi David
Welcome to the Aussie section of 1/6th scale tanks. As Dale has indicated a good number of tanks are either here or on their merry way. I have two and am waiting for my King Tiger to be finished and sent with the second shipment. Have fun with your new found hobby.
Cheers

Hi Dale,
Good to see the Aust-Panzer Division is growing in strength down under. I am already waiting for the Panther re-release and would like the Halftrack sometime down the track. Heck, I'd like them all.
From what I understand, we here in OZ are in a good position dollar to pound wise, atm. This is one of the reasons I decided to jump in. When the Oz dollar almost reached parity with the US dollar I bought goods from over there.
Cheers...

Hi Rick,
These are pretty serious models.
Most of my life has been involved in 1/35th scale. The migration to 1/6th is a big change (pun intended).
So how many Aussies are members?
Any in Sydney?
Cheers...

Hi David,
I live in Abbotsbury, post code 2176. King Tiger is my 1st Armortek tank, 2nd 1/6 tank. It's quite different with 1/16 tanks, let alone 1/35 one. Welcome to the new world!

Hi Chang,
I bought the Unimax Tiger I 1/16th scale about a year ago and that was a big deal at the time.
When I was younger I used to fantasise about buying an actual tank. Then I wanted to scratch build one full size.
Now I have decided to buy the 1/6th scale PzIII and use it as a reference to build a 1:1 scale model that I have been deaming about all my life. JOKE!
The quality of the Armortek models is staggering. There are cheaper 1/6th models around but I have always regretted second best and don't intent to do that at my stage in life.
Cheers...

Hi David,
Although being a tank mania, I must admit that your dream of 1:1 full size tank is much beyond mine.
I was serviced in (Taiwan) armour force for 2 years. I love tank before that, and even more afterward. To me , tank is an amazing machine no other vehicle could matched. So does the model tank to other models. The thick armour, wide tracks, long and big cannon, loud engine noise, and many other things no other model has got are always hook me on.
That's why eventually the Armortek's tank became my pick. It's not too complicated to be handled by ordinary players like me, yet good in quality to makes us happy.
This King Tiger is my 2nd 1/6 tank, but is the 1st one to be built by myself. This is still a new world to me.
Cheers,
Lerh Chang
