Hi
I Have recently bought my self a second hand sherman half built with full options package, i am currently dismantling to start a fresh, my question is what size batteries should i be installing for a nice long run time, it has 2 x 12v 3.8AH DYNAVOLT nano gel batteries, are these any good, if so how long would they last.
Thanks David

Hello David
The batteries you need for any tank must be a Minumin of 18Ahr which will only give approximatly 1hrs running. hope this helps

Hi Lee
Thanks for the info, if 18 Ahr is the minimum what would be the maximum or best to fit?
Thanks David

Hello David
I have 26Ahr in my panther and they last about 3 hrs. Just get the biggest bateries you can get in it. If you have fireing system because the mechanisum come into the turret ring you can have any batteries in there so you have smaller batteries therfore shorter running time.
Always go for gel type. as they can be fitted in all directions.

A pair of 20Ah should be a perfect fit - I used that combination in my Sherman and still had room for the blank firer.
I can't say how long they'll last as I didn't do enough contiunous running to flatten them

David,
The 22Ahr sealed batteries are what I use in both my Sherman and Tiger. I think sealed ias best given that the batteries will live in an almost seal box. It avoids the risk of hydrogen being aroun when charging. As the Sherman is quite a bit lighter than the Tiger you should get good durateion from these batteries. Certainly in excess of an hour running, but the errain you are driving over does make a difference.
