Do I have a sound unit problem

Post by Andy Payne »

I have been running my early Tiger for a good while now, and am quite happy with how it runs however I'm not certain the sound unit is performing up to spec. After the unit starts up it maintains a constant rpm and there is no idle if the tank is stopped. It is the old system in which you had to splice two wires into the speed controllers.(not a Benedini system).Has anyone had experience with this system,is it supposed to idle the engine sound, or do I have to upgrade to the Benedini system to gain this capacity?

Hello Andy

Seasons greetings. The old Sound unit only had engine idol engine run and machine gun. The engine noise is NOT proportional. And it does cut out when running. To get this system to run at its best. You have to put a RC plug back on where you have spliced (not a good idea on any rc system) and fit a Y lead.
The best system by far is the Benedini one if you can afford it. Where everything is proportional. www.benedini.de and the click on demo to hear the Tiger sound. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the swift reply Lee.
Seems I shall have to upgrade to improve the sound performance.
I think good sound really enhances the overall model.
Thanks again
Andy
