Opening the Metro daily freebie today on the train to London revealed a short article on Mark Spencer's 1/4 scale KT with a good picture of the tank and Mark. Its nice to see a bit of publicity for these large scale tanks.
I'll scan in the picture/article this evening when I get home and post it.

Personally, I don't feel this is the right place to post an article praising Gill and Marks main UK competitor, even though it may raise the profile of the hobby as a whole.
The UKTC forum might be a more appropriate place to post it.

Although i have seen the 1/4 scale tanks that are coming in from russia , i am sure that many have not . They are impressive to say the least , and perform well. The dissadvantage is their size, as a transit type van is needed for the transportation.
As to praising an Armortek competitor , i doubt that there is any competition between Armortek and Mark 1 Tanks . I know Gill and Mark of Armortek have been guests at Mark 1 Tanks place when Mark has the UK tank club there .
Mark and Gill also tell us that there is absolutley no way that they would manufacture a 1/4 scale tank, because of the weight.
The 2 manufactures run side by side , you pay your money and take your choice . The Armortek tanks are an engineers model, whereas Mark 1 Tanks are aimed at the person with little or no engineering skill. who wants a radio controlled tank, without the hassle of having to build it.
I thought long and hard before posting on this thread , and i have no doubt that i am going to get my head bittwen off, but i am old enough to take the flak .
There is a place for both manufacturers , and if one were to dissapear then it would be a sad day for the hobby .

HI ALL I AM WITH DAVE PENGELLY ON THIS MATTER I HAVE A ARMORTEK TANK AND MARK 1 TANK. THAY ARE AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER IN THERE OWN WAY. WE ALL HAVE THE SAME INTEREST (TANKS) NO MATTER WHO MAKES THEM I AM SURE PUTING THE PICTURE ON THE FORUM WILL NOT AFFECT SALES AND IF SOMEONE BOUGHT ONE THEN THERE IS ONE MORE TANK OUT THERE AND THAT IS A GOOD THING.ALL THE BEST (NICK)

I agree with Dave. No competition there at all. Once you own an Armortek tank that's all you want
I have to say that Bryan's new paint job on his 1/4 KT by Dave at Armorpax is stunning
.
If you want to see Mark with his 1/4 KT just go to Metro.co.uk and look for page 23 on todays issue.

Im with Nick Dave and Ant here. Id like to see the pics. I have one of Alex's early 1/10 tanks and have seen a couple of the 1/6. They are great if that was all there was. But once you have had the taste of heavy metal, plastic will never do again.

Hi Guys
I agree with Antony, no competition
, once you have a armortek tank you will proberly never go with anythin else
especially when they are nearly the same price as each other. Metal has got to be the way to go for long lasting.
anyway HAPPY XMAS & ALL THE VERY BEST FOR NEW YEAR
