Thanks dale for posting the photos,i must learn how to do that
Guys have a look at the photos of the original PIII and you will notice that studs were used for mounting the various parts to the hull,therefore you should only see nuts on the outsides , also the escape hatch door has the fixings in a recessed hole,i drilled mine and used rivets with the head flush with the surface,then sealed it to the hull to keep out water/mud
After 45 years as a live steam loco builder not having to source materials/machine everything, i am Really Enjoying building the Panzer as Mark and the team has done all the hard work for us

Hi Peter

Glad to see that you are underway with your Panzer III. It is starting to look like another very serious attempt by a Aussie modeller at these marvellous kits produced by Armortek. I note your desire to show the rivets as opposed to simply bolting the hull together. This is prototypical
building at its best.....well done. Should you need the paint RAL 7028 mix just give me a call as I have a couple of litres of it which I had made up for my Jagdpanther in two pack automotive paint. It looks brilliant on my Tiger with red/white numbers and black Balkan cross. Keep up the high standard and happy building Pete.

Hello Rick,
Thanks for you kind words and paint offer,i would take you up on that but i cant use two pack paint i am alergic to it nomatter how i cover up with protective gear. I am spending Panzer time each nite so i am progressing OK . I have set a date that i wish to have the Panzer running by next May as i attend a heratige and Vintage weekend with my steam loco and i intend to publicise the Model Tanks hobby and of course the great Armortek products,if you would like to come along it is a great weekend held at Quirindi Heratige Villiage,this year there were some army Jeeps and a display of 1/16th scale tanks etc.

Hi Pete

Thanks for the invitation. I would like to go and display both of my tanks, I can bring along the Armortek banner we have to help promote the hobby in Australia as we did in Newcastle last July with Dale when you and I first met. Maybe Armortek will support our efforts as they did this year with flyers and brouchures etc.. We can email Gill and see what is in the pipeline apart from the release of the Tiger Mid production in early 2009, by that stage Armortek may have announced their other new models for 09/10 production which we will promote at the show. Also Big Dale might get a leave pass as well so we can paint the town red and make another statement about Armortek. I will see if some of the other larikins would like to attend, Adrian or Chiang come to mind in Sydney or maybe Greg Marchant fron Tasmania, who I spoke to today about his plans in 09.

Either way we shall keep the kettle boiling on this topic and operation.

Keep well and excellent work so far, happy Xmas and a great new year to you and all the Armortek family in Australia and elsewhere.

Here are some new photos of Peters work , as you can see he has been busy on the turret ..Also look at the full length hinge on the front fender with the scale hex bolts added .

You can see some nice fake welds in this photo . Peter will fill us in on the detail work later .
