Calibrating sound module

Hi All, I am in the process of commissioning the motion packs, all moving relatively well for a total newbie to RC and tanks.
Have managed to "start and stop the engine" and fire the gun, however, the "engine " noise does not increase with rpm. Have tried depressing the calibration button,achieve a confirmationall beep but cannot change the settings.
The beep is evident immediately I depress the button and I am afraid of holding the button for 1 second for fear of "wiping the memory ".
Any suggestions please?

Did you do it twice?
As far as I remember from the documentation:
First press the button short and then push the Stick just that far, that the Chains will start moving and then push the 3 way button.
You will hear a short engine rev sound.
Then push the stick to full throttle and then push the 3 way button again. After that it should work.

Thanks Timo, I think that's what I've done but will repeat again. I wasn't sure about pushing the calibrate button, I had a beep immediately but didn't know if I should have held the button a little longer. I.e one second but no longer.

The sound modules are already pre-calibrated to the majority of transmitters so there should not really be any need to calibrate it. We do this as part of our unit testing before shipping.

If the neutral position and end points of the transmitter don't seem to match the sounds then you will need to calibrate.

Carried out some basic continuity testing because the audio unit appears to be responding to the 3 position switch imput on IP 3 but doesn't appear to be seeing inputs 1 & 2 but the drive motors are responding correctly. Continuity was satisfactory so no poor connections evident but no change in engine noise. Turned everything off and repeated start up procedure, absolutely no response from the speakers to any I/P on 3 however, the smoke fans now respond to the engine start instruction. I couldn't hear them previously, so I assume that the sound module is seeing power.
This is my first foray into RC, purchased a Spektrum NX8 from a local RC helicopter dealer as I didn't fancy buying on line with limited back up. So far I'm achieving some fair success with most functions operating, but can't bottom this sound module.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
