Drive casing rubbing against sprocket wheel

Hi Guys

A noob here trying to build a tiger tank late version so please take pity.

The problem I have is that the drive casing is bang up against the sprocket wheel.

The shaft protrudes about 1mm from the taper lock bearing as shown in the photo.

Do I hammer the bearing in until it protrudes one mm on the other side or do I force the shaft back by
packing out the hub cap retaining screw.

all the best

Bob

I suspect you have not understood how taperlocks work.
Insert the key stopping the taperlock rotating on the shaft.
Position the whole assembly along the shaft so that there is no rubbing or binding, and preferably in line with the road wheels.
Then insert and tighten the screws to lock the assembly onto the shaft.

Have a look at my Youtube video no 11 on the Tiger 1. On the forum. It might help.

Hi Mark

Your suspicion is 100% spot on!

I thought it gripped the hole into which it is inserted rather than the shaft. Now I have tightened the grub screws further I see it grips the shaft as well.

Thanks so much for the advice.

All the best

Bob
