Re: Radio gear
Hi John,
well, I think there are many radio types used, depending on availability in ones country and personal preferences. My transmitter is a Graupner MC 32, remaining of my R/C aeroplane days. I love it because I get some actual tank data per telemetry shown on my transmitter display; e.g. main battery capacity, single cell voltage, current consumption, ESC temperature and so on. Included are acoustic warning messages when parameters get critical. So I don't have to use a BMS for my LiFePO4 battery cells.

Re: Radio gear
You will likely get as many responses as there are different systems to use. Where one I was strickly at Futaba fan, I have gone over completely to FrSky's X20 series of radio systems. Powerful, flexible and more capability than I need. I've used and still used Turnigy, FlySky, FrSky, Spektrum, Jumper, and several others and even Futaba!
The Taranis X9D is a fantastic system, easy to maintain, easy to upgrade; using openTX or more likely EdgeTx. I have 4 or 5 Taranis systems; They've
shown up here in the US on "ShopGoodwill"- a site that manages sales of donated 'stuff' - I've purchased nearly new systems for as little as $20 in perfect condition with a hard carry case and viable battery- only needed to change the RTC battery and update the OS/wipe the memory....
