Jerrycan Dimensions

Hi

It's a bit of a long shot but here goes.

I am remaking my jerrycan 3d models and would like them to be more accurate in size. Problem is I can't find the actual dimensions of a real one. So if there is someone out there with a real jerrycan can you please tell me the major dimensions of your jerrycan (height, width and depth only).

Also would be very helpful if the depth of the embossed markings is measured.

Many thanks.

Vince

I have a 1940 vintage can but only have inch measuring tools to measure something that size. If you feel this will help
let me know what measurements you need.

Thanks Phil and Jerry. Any unit of measurement will do.
I have only found conflicting dimensions on the internet especially in the front to back measurement.

Not forgetting that the Germans used metric measurements, so it's probably 470mm x 350mm :D

The oldest I have is From 1977, the tooling must have been the same as Mike's dimensions are correct. It's all down to the 20L volume I suppose.

Thanks guys for the help.
At least now that the depth has been measured as 6.5 inches I am happy that it is correct. There where places on the internet which were saying 5.5 inches deep.

It is 5.5" at the sides and 6.5" in the middle - see picture below
This is a view of the bottom.

There is an angle of 167 degrees measured from the front to the side.
There is also a difference in the center area from the SS can to the Wehrmacht can.
SS size is 2 3/4" X 4 1/4"
Wehrmacht size is 3" X 4"

If you can get a Dragon jerry can they did a very good job with them, they just forgot
to add the recess on the bottom.

Apologies, since I posted the photo of the gas can I'd become sidetracked with other matters.
It seems the others have provided good data.
