Not sure how you get on but is it possible to build and complete the panzer III and then install the electrics and motors? By doing this can you get everything in without taking anything apart of the tank itself? What i'm trying to say is there room to install the electrics without taking the tank apart? If that makes sense.

On my tanks i make the top deck removeable so you can get to everything for maintenance.

I agree with Lee in that it is important to have full access to the works, and if possible by a quick and easy method for field repairs.

The Panzer III you would find it difficul to put the electrics in without having to dismantle parts. The motors you need to remove the outer gear housings to fit these. The rest I think as Lee and Alan suggest, the upper deck needs to be removed to fit the internal equipment. I suppose you might be able to manage without this but it would make it tricker.

As I'm getting on with the Panzer III I have been looking at the exlectrical installation. I'm still toying with a few ideas's but I think I can fix the upper deck as it is supposed to be and still get the radio gear located and available for maintenance. I have certainly put the motors in and removed then by gaing access via the transmission hatches, and you can get the floor tray in very easily through the turret ring.

I need to work out the layout that best suits but I think with so many hatches on the rear deck, it's looking like if I mount everything up in a sensible maner, then it would be possible to maintain everything through the turret ring and hatches. I've built a few submarines so I am used to fitting equipment into tight spaces, and arranging it so that you can access things easily.

As I am working on 2 tanks at the moment, so I haven't taken much in the way of pictures but as soon as I get a chance I will take some.
