Hi Anthony

From what I can gather from a short trawl through the internet, the fenders were fitted to the Initial Production version of the Tiger, and appear to be a sheet of chequer plate with a bend in the middle as a field fitted mudguard.

Image
Tiger 142 of sPzAbt.501 advances down a road in Tunisia. The Tiger has the unit field modifications, the lowered headlights and modified mudguards, that made the tanks of sPzAbt.501 unique.

The rest of the pictures on the website are well worth a look.

Cheers

Mick

Hi Fellas.
Mick is correct Antony, your looking at the Tiger being from 1943 with typical early production give aways like the checker plate mudguards to the front and " Arican" version exhaust shrouds that wer slotted, and the ribbed rear fenders with rounded edges and of course the spare track hangers on lower joint of the rear hull  there are quite a few good pics of all the above in Tank Power 13 Tiger volume 1.
Cheers Paul

What on earth happened prior to that top photo :!: :?: :!:

Not a single wheel nor either idler attached, some of the torsion bars removed and the engine bay floor looks to be missing

Adrian.
