Tiger 1 506

Post by Ivano Costantini »

Good evening everyone, a question for the experts: how do you interpret the colours of this Early of the 506°. I think it is three tone, what do you think? The battalion was created in July 1943, eastern Front.

Thanks John, I turned to you because there is a discussion in the ‘Tiger Tank’ Facebook group in which it is claimed that in 1943 the camouflage was tricolour. They say that in black and white photos, the two colours (green, brownred) do not always stand out.

That could be right. I think units used whatever they thought fitted their surroundings.
