Hi, could anyone tell me the dimensions of this kit. I’m guessing the new one will be the same/similar

Re: Dimensions
Oh yeh
Silly me
I really wanted the 9, I don’t think the 7 is big enough for what I have in mind! Have to keep my eyes open for if one comes up for sale sometime, although even the 7 is a big old unit!

Re: Dimensions
Famo is HUGE and has a large cargo bed but the 7 has more seats and maybe more nimble. Also the 7 is preferred towing 88 so I would think most people prefer the 7. But I wonder if the 88 crew is in 7 while it tows the 88 who carries the ammunition? We need a truck too?!

Re: Dimensions
Well I think in real the SdKfz9 was mostly towing the Flak37 because the wheight and munition and towing out tanks from mud. The SdKfz7 maybe for the PAK 43, Flak and troop transport cros country.

Re: Dimensions
Would be nice if Armortek meet us half way and did the 8 instead of 7 . Only thing was the real 8 produced in large numbers and was used that much compared to the others ? I always thought the 7 looked to small for the 88 . Dale

Re: Dimensions
The SDKFZ 9 was a divisional asset to recover Panzers, as such was highly useful to back up the Panzer formations in the field. While the Flak 88mm needed mobility and fresh firing positions especially towards the end of the war. Ammunition was carried in the rear of the Sdkfz 7.

Re: Dimensions
The FlaK 36/37 weighed about 7500lg if memory serves and the Sd. Kfz. 7 had a towing capacity of about 8000kg. So while
it was close towing the 88 was well within its rated capability. I'm sure as in most armies, things are 'stretched' and in time of war
just about anything goes. Using the Sd. Kfz. 9 was likely overkill but I'm sure it happened as well.
