Hi Phil
This has become one of the most detailed builds I’ve seen so far, very impressed with the detail you have gone to.
Only hope my build will be a quarter as good as yours.
One small detail the top cone of the HESH rounds shoulD be yellow.
Can’t wait to see the finished build and it driving around.

Thanks Steve! Vince do you fancy cading the internal periscope unit and the commanders sight per chance?

Hi Phil
Those photos have different sights. I tried to make the best from the photos with the only reference being the distance between eyesights. I don't know if it's ok though.
The box is 41mm long, 32mm wide and 20mm deep.

OK. So looking more at those photos I am going to hazard some guesses.
The first and second photo are the same part. They are the periscopes which surround the commander's cupola. I guess they could be glued inside the cupola. It shouldn't be hard to draw but I will need a pencil drawing with basic dimensions of length, width and depth to match the top part of the periscope.
Is the third photo the whole unit of the commander's sight? I just drew a basic drawing of the bottom part but no idea if the size I chose are correct.
No idea about the fourth photo. Is it a different model of the commander's sight?

Sorry to dump them on you vince without explaining. The first and second are indeed the commanders periscopes, the third is I think the commanders sight, the forth I'm not sure about but thought it was worth posting.
I will take some measurements and get them to you, someone may have a better photo of photos from various angles?

I guess the size of the bottom periscope would roughly be the same as the existing top periscope.
Did you have a look at the drawing of the commander's sight. I am mostly worried about the size.
- Added two knobs on the side.

Thanks Stephen for that information.
Just to be clear, the periscope photos (the first four in your reply), are those the bottom part of the periscope?

No, that’s the whole unit complete. The two middle photos show the rubber screen which you could pull over the inboard lens. Improbable though this may sound, they were designed to allow the crew to protect themselves from the flash of a (friendly) nuclear detonation. You might consider that the crew might have more to be worried about in those circumstances. That was in the days when there was serious consideration of using so called battlefield tactical nuclear weapons. The screens also allowed you to black out the exterior of the tanks when you had light on inside.

Ok Stephen. So the part with the rubber cover is the bottom part of the periscope. Thanks.

Thanks Stephen what would we do without you! Vince those pics have all the information I hope but I can still measure if you like?
We do need the gunners sight as well I suppose?
Cannon plugs and electrical boxes just about all day today.

Let's do one part at a time.
Let's start with the bottom part of the periscopes. If I had a Chieftain I could judge the size of the parts, but I don't. So I have to rely on you telling me what size you want the parts with a simple line drawing.
So I will wait for your info to do the bottom part of the periscope.
