Hi Folks.

Just a la'al update. Been away on an adventure.

The good news is nothing fell off the model, despite a right royal rough going over; rough ground that is. :D
Some woodland off road.

Charles looks really great. Glad she's out and about. A bit surprised she looks smaller than a US Jeep tho!
Best regards,
Bob

Thank you Robert.

That would be post war austerity, needs must and down to earth British practicality!

Any US S1's out and about?.

I ask respectfully.

Take care.
Charles

Charles.
Looking really good, you must be happy so far...
Still very much in the early stages with my build but I keep getting sidetracked.
Maybe winter will give me more time in the shop.
Well done.

Hi Folks.

After a cracking run around in some Scottish woodland, without any damage, bits falling off and a few things learnt. A successful trip all in all.

The main outcome is that there is going to be some rewiring over the winter, especially the lighting circuit and that chuffing great switch which my pinkies can't move it when it is placed low down in the engine bay.

One answer, kindly provided, is to replace the switch with a relay, which may fit into the battery bay under the seats: An option :) .

Could anyone suggest a smaller speaker than that provided with the kit?

Keeping the speaker under the bonnet(hood for the USA) is the best place after all.
Big speaker, lots of wires, ideas chaps/lasses.

Imay look for a smaller speaker so I'll let you know if I find something suitable.

If you have any drawings or specs for fitting a relay as the main power switch I'd be very interested.

Mick.

Visaton do speakers down to 3cm, so you should be able to find one which will fit behind the grill.
