Re: A 47 years old love
Hello
A happy new year!
Well: We - Günter Gäbelein and I - had decided that we will finish our old project a Wisent 1 from FFG.
So I hope that I can continue my Cent report in 2018.
Best wishes
Frank

Hi Stephen
My first clamp is ready. Only one hour. In the Background you see a 1mm drill.
The lens I will try to mill it tomorrow.
All the best

Frank. That’s perfection. I see what you mean about the photo-etch but it does look effective and in perfect scale. Now all you have to do is build the Centurion around it. Looking forward to my package arriving to complete my light. Mit sehr freundlichen Gruessen. Stephen

Hello at all
Now I finished the gun holder. Stephen`s report was again helpful.
At first I designed a 3D model and then I had printed. Now I only have to paint it.
Kind regards
Frank

Just too good Frank! I'm full of admiration for your drawing skills. As for the construction, well, with 3-D printing it's just pressing a button..... The results are stunning but I wonder whether it makes it all a bit too easy? Nevertheless, now I've completed your Cent searchlight with Günter's photoetch, I can certainly say such a finely detailed replica wouldn't have been possible by hand. I think the moral is to embrace new technology. Keeps you young.
Thanks and well done.
Stephen

Re: A 47 years old love
Hello at all
Now a little progress.
Hi Stephen it is like you say: Is it modelling? My first model was a Leo in 1:10. I had only a turning machine, an electric hand drilling machine, a hand copy saw and files. The upper hull I made from a brass plate with my hand copy saw, the form from the turret by hand out of a wooden piece and the teeth from the track sprocket rings with a file by hand. From the two shift gearbox I will ….
Now It is very easier for me and another modelling with more possibilities, very faster and much more accurate. But I can follow your question. So I think: Let us use our modern skills and machines! I will not back.
Kind regards
Frank

Today a little progress.

The reflector mounting.
The electric boxes are also 3D printed. The rest is from a Led hand lamp like Stephen´s idea. The bulb in the middel and the reflector is a present from Stephen. Thanks.
And the result.

Re: A 47 years old love
Frank, congratulations, great to have another Cent build on the Forum, there's nostalgia. The searchlight worked out well. The Wisent is a work of art and as Fabrice says, we'd love to see some video of it in action. I'll be following your Cent build with interest, particularly as you're pushing the boundaries of 3D printing for our models, as is Adrian Harris. Real pioneers. Stephen
