Hi Phil, I do a set of British buckles and the tapes I got were in 4mm and 6mm widths which are perfect for 1/6 webbing.

Phil, a question completely off topic....why when I look at my posts are they displayed right across my screen......all other posts in the forum are neatly displayed down the center of my screen.....mick

Robert, what screen resolution do you use ?

If you have a PC, right click on the screen background and from the pop-up menu select "Properties". The click on the tab which says "Settings" and there should be a section called "Screen Resolution".

This is for Windows XP - new fangled versions such as Vista or 7 may be different!

My screen is set to 1280 x 1024, so I can usually see most of the pictures. If yours is set to 1024x768 or lower, you will find that the pictures go all the way across the screen.

That's why I usually limit my pictures to 800 wide, so that they'll display on any screen.

I have the same problem, sometimes I can see all the display area, other times I have to scroll across to read text or see pictures.

There was me thinking it was just normal.
I am on my computer at work at the moment and like Adrian said this one is set on 1024 x 768.
But the pictures seem ok as long as I display full screen but that might be
the picture size like Adrian also said.
My pictures are just taken with a mobile phone(I really must get a
decent camera)thats why the quality is not so good some times if the
light is bad.

Phil, I am assuming that I need to use 'Loctite' on the wheel bearings ( to axles ) when fitting the main wheels to their respective axles....mick

I have gone for the option of using double sided tape, to fit the rubber tyres to wheels....my Comet will not be used on rough ground, or heavy running....it will also be nice and clean....not to be taken out in the rain...mick

I have never used loctite or any other retainer on the shafts to inner bearings,the fit is tight enough and under load the bearings will be the first to spin,bit risky og getting locktight dripping into your balls
The manual just recomends bearings into bores.
Re Tyres
The Comet is only my second Tank,but I learnt the hard way by not following the instructions when I did my Panzer 111L
I didnt clean the Wheels or Tyres very good and only a scrap of the
basic super glue
BIG MISTAKE
The tyres creeped off the rims even with a steady turn on thr carpet in my
spare bed room.
So I invested in some Loctight 480 an instant adhesive toughened with
black rubber.
You can see it on your fingers just before they stick together,takes a couple of days soap and water and wire wool to get it off.
Perfect for rubber tyres though,combined this time with cleaning all over
spray off the rims and sanding the wheels and tyres.
I put the locktight on the wheel all round in spots and being black could seeit easy,placed the tyre on a hard board and pushed the wheel in firmly after lining up,and the tyre lines up perfect.
Mick its well worth taking the trouble however carefull a driver you will be.
Get the glue out

Ok Phil, I have ordered Loctite 480 from my local accessories dealer...I was in a hurry to fit the tyres, so tried the double sided tape. The wheels are tight on the axles so I will leave well alone. Thanks again....Mick

Good luck with your tyres,the glue is more expensive than the normal
super glue but well worth the effort and taking your time.
If any glue gets pushed out,it will be on the inside of the assembled wheel
so you can wipe it up with a tissue and it wont spoil your painted wheel.
It will be good for other bits on your assembly aswell,its great with the detailed bits,and other metal parts.
Can your paint supplier make you a little pot of your SCC 15 for touching up with an artist brush.
It would come in handy soon,your Tank looks as if it will soon be comeing
to the stage when its too heavy to carry back to your Armortek Spray booth.

Loctite glue remover, (available from B&Q) and Painters Wipes (Available from Brewers -nationwide paint suppliers) are invaluable for clean-up. Can't say enough good things about those painters wipes...once tried you'll never look back!

Phil, the paint supplier has made up a small 'touch-up' bottle of my Olive Drab,so we are good to go, and I have invested in a 'table lift'

I am having a long 'think' about the tyres to wheels situation....I understand all you say and I know you are right, however, I have a serious health problem with any form of 'superglue', namely I am asthmatic and the vapour given off is a no go area. I have tried any number of 'masks' none of which work. I may have to use Araldite as I can tolerate this type of adhesive. I have ordered some Loctite 480, my supplier said it is a form of 'superglue'

Have other'tank' modellers any advice or thoughts on fixing rubber tyres to metal wheels.

I'm sure I read a post regarding other types of fixing.....mick
