Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017
Yes Larry, I am routing the wiring under the headlight mount and through the front of the Tiger.
You have noticed correctly that I shifted slightly the position of the junction box. In the photo below you can see the position of the original hole.
It was a last minute decision I took when I made the brass conduit. It helps with the installation of the brass conduit and the new postion looks more correct with reference to my jack block.

Thanks Kent for that. Hopefully I'll remember to do it when I am doing the turret zimmerit. Please note that also the headlight bracket was covered with zimmerit.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017
Today, first item on the agenda, was repositioning the electronic remote switch. As I said earlier, I am not going to worry about why I cannot open the driver's hatch with the turret positioned in the forward position.
At first I was going to put it under the left-hand radiator grille but then decided to put it under the right hand grille where I have the electric control box. It is "velcroed" to the rear plate and the bottom is resting on the control box.
Yes, I know it does not look very professional but I thought that that place would be the most convenient. It's one of those things I could not anticipate. Originally I had thought of opening up the remote switch and incorporate it in the control box but could not remove the two screws of the remote switch as I suspect they have been thread-locked, so I abandoned the idea.

Vince,
I'm always impressed when looking at your build progress.
It makes sense to use the space beneath the rear fan grills to place your remotes. I placed my battery power switch and remote on/off under the left grill and the 24V charging plug under the right. Works great.
I saw Armortek's facebook announcement about their new upgrade road wheels for the tiger. Apparently, it adds authenticity. I would consider buying a set if it would help keep my tracks from slipping.
cheers... Tom

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017
Finally I can say that the hull is finished and all buttoned up (famous last words!!). I have been working on it for the last five months. Never imagined it would take me so long.
Finished the fillet between the engine hatch and hull roof. I also added the tie-downs to the appropriate places.
I made a jig when I came to drill the 1.5mm holes in the side of the hull for the tie-downs.
Added the zimmerit behind the Bosch light and touched up the base coat. I put all the bits and pieces in place to take some family shots of the deck. Also put in the antenna just to see how it looks.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017
Having finished the hull it felt like another milestone was reached. So now I can concentrate on the turret. Problem is that it's so hot here (34 in the shade and increasing next week) that all I want to do is sit in an airconditioned room with an ice cold beer (working on my beer belly!!). So progress has gone from slow to even slower as I can only do short periods in the workshop.
I am at the moment working on the turret escape hatch. At first I was going to make a simple latch to keep it in the closed position but Bob Morey was kind enough to send me his drawings of what he did to the escape hatch (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7208) which encouraged me to attempt to do something similar. This means building from scratch all the parts. I was lucky to find the material required in my offcut and scrap parts bins.
Managed to rough out the main parts:

Thanks again Bob for your drawings. They gave me a sense of scale for the parts required.

Re: Vince's Tiger 1 late variant 2017
Well, as Phil did not want to lend me his shop elves, I had to go to the workshop to do something myself.
Bored (hollowed) out the kit supplied escape hatch to accept the circular base of the locking mechanism.
Also cut a small groove for a possible rubber seal or I will just paint the groove black.
