Interesting email from Armortek.

- Unlike in previous surveys where there was a clear winner, or at least a top two, this year there are 6 models that are all within a whisker of each other.
The top 6 are:
- 88 flak 36 with bogies
- Tiger 1 (early variant)
- Panzer IV
- Leopard 2 (most requested variant the 2a7)
- Challenger 2
- M1A1 Abrams

Congratulations to Monique and Kian, I’m proud of their accomplishments! There was one result of that survey that is of interest to me, so we’ll see if that makes the final cut. GOOD JOB!

I was so hoping I was going to get the US halftrack or Chaffe.

Yes, U.S. Halftrack was one of my choices (“Would Consider Buying”) on that Survey. I liked the Flak88 36/37 idea, as it won’t be as expensive, opens up our great “Aftermarket” (Hello Tim C) individuals who did great upgrades to their old kit. So, as stated in previous posting…regardless, it’ll be fun to see what comes out…and who knows it might look so good I’d consider?

Sorry to say but it looks like I not will lay my hands on a JagdPanther this time either.

Of that list only the Pz IV would be of interest to me, Maaaaaaaaaaybe an early Tiger I.

Perhaps some upgraded parts for my FlaK 36 would be nice... to whoever said the FlaK gun is smaller-
boy not by much and at least the older one isn't light either- either that or I haven't been eating my oatmeal!

I'd be happy for those who want the more contemporary tanks but wake me when that part of the show is over!

Statistics are always difficult to draw meaningful conclusions from, and doubtless Kian has his own algorithms. But the messages for me are:

- German WW2 will always be Armortek's main sales area ;
- The move into 'Cold War Gets Hot' is interesting, and welcome;
- We have not yet reached Peak Tiger ;
- The 2nd hand values of Comets and Centurions has just increased .

Odd about the Chaffee. It may be that it's largely attractive to the same buyers as Pershing, and the forthcoming recession means people can't have both. So it looks like the M24 is a dead duck, as is WW1 . If I were a betting man (which I'm not ) my money would be on a Panzer IV, which would fill an obvious hole in the Panzerwaffe line-up, and has enormous conversion potential (Wirbelwind, anyone ?).

It's always interesting to test market opinion. The trick is keeping up with it !

I really would only be interested in Jagd panther or the WW1 MkV.

I was always shocked that no one ever has shown interest in the M4A1 Cast Hull Sherman but me? Oh well, that too is not German….so I guess it’s a matter of appeal?

I am happy to see the flak 88 w/bogies end up on the top requested list. But, I am sad about the lack of interest in the Opel Blitz Truck and Trailer to carry tanks.

I’d purchase the Flak88/36 with Boggies.

Speaking for myself modeling is somewhat of an escapist opportunity. Rightly or wrongly there's an allure to many for days past
and through our pastimes we can partially (it IS only partial right?) escape into if not better, interesting times. Our model
choices reflect this. WWII era machines were diverse in their ability and design; they were the products of very turbulent times
when people of vision, imagination and unrefined technologies put out some superb designs which makes them interesting subjects.

Many of you have heard me drone on before about modern AFVs so I won't bore further with that. As modern AFVs represent our times
I for one don't need to escape into it as we're all living it.

It isn't just WWII German machines the pique my interest but rather that entire era of AFVs. Germany surely had the most diverse array, England a goodly number and the US its cadre led by the ubiquitous Sherman in its many variations. Russia surely is there (although today probably no one wants to touch that although just think about an ISU-152 in 1/6!) with other combatants fielding an array of smaller machines although still of interest to me.

I'm sure in the end whatever is chosen to go into production by the elves at Armortek everyone will be pleased and impressed as always.

Hey, if Armortek doesn’t produce a Flak88, I’ll be looking for one to purchase….hopefully this side of the “Pond” but not exclusively.
