Dave, this is magnificent! I think it might be your best build ever.

So much you can do with the 'small stuff' when it comes to amazing detail!

Keep it up! Loving following this!

Cheers,

Thank you Robert.

Hi John,

I think the UC stuff is going to be split into a primary set of standard bits like the Radiator, visor covers, handles, steering parts etc etc. then a separate seat pad set as some already have this, extinguishers, rifles, Ammo bags, Deep wading pads, Radio and so on.

Want to try and make it as flexible as possible for people who will be making different variants and already have some of the parts.

Anyway, you were all warned I was building one of my own so a lot of parts was inevitable :-)

Best regards,

Dave

Hi All,

Playing around with print sizes and think we now have the N019 Set markings correctly sized. These are done from the Panzerwerk markings to suit these masters representing a Canadian made set. Now we just need to decide how to produce them as never tried making my own decals and these are just done on my label printer.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

I've had to compromise with the tool bracket due to the position of the support arms for the towing frame. As all of the strength of the towing frame is in these steel side pieces I have worked around them. I may come back to this to see if I can add something in resin or metal to look more prototypical without losing the steel pieces. Lots of other bits to do first though. There will of course be two rear steps once I have castings. Boring last bit is the conduit entry for the light wiring.

Best regards

Dave

Arrgh! Flipping heck Dave, this is all great stuff.

At the this rate the only bits from the Armortek detail kit I'll be using will be the pull levers on the fire extinguishers.

And sadly not on the UC, but between the front bin's on the Chieftain :D

Waste not, want not!

Hi All,

I know I said I'd maybe come back at a later date to adding some more detail to improve the towing frame supports. Well that lasted all of 20 minutes before the need to make something better overtook me...…………….

These add over the steel kit parts so no reduction in strength. These will be purely cosmetic.

Dave

Hi Dave
That is really clever solution I would say this is one of the best builds I have ever seen
from you and that is saying something.

A totally different level

Derek

Hi All,

Used a quick set of resin castings, off the new backplate masters, to drill and prep the rear plate. Most of these parts will actually be metal apart from the two new towing frame supports, the shovel handle and possibly the pick axe helve. I'll change the resin parts once we have a metal mould for these bits.

Hi Marcus,

Thank you, I have to build fast as I am always on the back foot trying to get parts made before everyone else finishes their builds :-)

Hi Dave,

Will all these bits be available individually or only in one pack.

Dennis,

Hi Dennis,

As per previous posts a lot of the parts will be done as individual bits like the seat pad set. The metal parts are going to probably have to be a single set as I have had to fit the parts onto moulds as best we can to maximise mould space. I don't really want to start throwing bits back every spin just to get a few parts out or it will not be cost effective. I'll be as flexible as is practical to give you all what you need but I have to recover the mould costs and time that has gone into all this.

In my head it will look something like this:

1) Basic update pack containing all detail parts in metal with rear Delco battery in its tray, rear wall stowage bin, radiator casting plate, towing frame support add ons and front floor parts. (There may be the odd bracket and radio parts in this not everyone will use depending on version but shouldn't be too much)
2) No 19 set Resin castings
3) No 19 Spare Valve Box
4) No 19 Set spares box
5) Seat Pad resin set
6) Bren mag bag
7) Delco Battery with 2 clamps
8 ) 4" Smoke Launcher
9) 4" Smoke Canister Bin
10) Lee Enfield with Canvas breech cover
11) 2 Gallon Petrol Can
12) Camo net bag resin casting
13) Pyrene Extinguisher
14) Deep wading pad set - metal
15) Bren 100 Rd Drum mag and adapter
16) Rolled Cover resin casting (Maybe, not decided yet)
17) Chore Horse

Not sure yet if the tools will form part of the main set or be a separate set. Depends how the final moulds work out.

Once its all actually moulded I'll do some photo layouts so you can all see what's what.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

And we are almost there with the main set of metal parts. There are a few resin bits needed to go with these but I'll get them done over the next few days. Wanted to get the last lot of metal bits of for the next mould.

These are the final bits of driving compartment detail that coupled with some brass rod or similar should make a pretty decent representation of the steering set up etc. Bren tripod back brackets, Spare wheel locking fixture, Drivers seat handle, hand brake and stay, gear lever and rear bin catches.

Best regards

Dave

Pardon my ignorance Dave, but what is a Chore Horse❓ It conjures up many visions, but none to do with a Universal Carrier😂

Thanks in anticipation👍
