My sincere condolences to Mark and the family.
I can only reinforce what everyone has already said, Gill was a wonderful lady.
Vanda and I first met Gill and Mark when they took over the business in the Daventry days, I went to pick up parts for the Early Tiger from Mark and Gill kept Vanda entertained while I chatted to Mark putting the world to rights.
Gill had the knack of putting everyone at ease and making them feel important and always had time for everybody. Over the years they both built the business up to a resounding success with Marks Engineering expertise and Gill's business skills. What a remarkable couple they were.
We will be thinking of you both with fond memories on the 18th.
Rest in peace dear Gill.

Gill's community of friends and customers extends to four continents or if you map them, from fourteen countries. It's testimony to the regard in which she was held. Having spoken to Mark yesterday, he'd like to preserve these tributes in a book of remembrance which was opened at Gill's funeral yesterday. I'll be compiling this thread into a document for Mark in the next few days. If anyone would like to add their message and haven't yet done so, I'll be happy to include. Stephen

For those who couldn't make the funeral yesterday ........ well, it was Standing Room Only. Family and friends, with the Armortek crowd standing at the rear and sides (I like to think of it as an Honour Guard). And even some well-behaved dogs. The service was non-religious, with a reading and a couple of her favourite songs (they're mine too, so I may not be able to listen to them again

). Mark made an incredibly brave speech, which referred to us all as the 'Armortek Family'. And so we are - we might quibble over things, and may even fall out occasionally, but we're all there for each other. And that was proved yesterday, alongside this thread. And Gill was one of the key architects of that.
There's an obscure little song I increasingly think of. It's buried away at the end of the Abbey Road album by an obscure beat combo called The Beatles

. It's very short, and is just called The End:
And, in the end,
the love you take
is equal to the love you make.
From the ample evidence, Gill generated an Armoured Division's worth. Rest in peace, Little Lady - always with us.
