Great pictures Mark. the tank looks mean.

Recoil Module, On input 1 plug (from the audio module), make sure the red power lead is disconnected and insulated, this may solve your problem of too many supplies on the audio module.
The Audio module gets it's supply from the power module and the recoil module gets it's 5v supply from the 24v converter.
I don't think they like each other. (I think the two independent supplies mess around with the audio module control outputs).

For the modules, I suggest its a return to Armortek!

Wrt the motor, have you taken off the gearbox cover plate and inspected the brass bush?

Richard I haven’t physically checked this but I don’t believe that there is an issue with the brass bush. The issue appears to be too much end float in the motor output shaft which is causing the bevel gears to skip over each other. The motors are being collected today for Armortek to examine.

Yippee this has worked and all appears to be fully functioning now. There’s voltage on the motor leads with the recoil still working! Just need to wait to get the motors back from Armortek, they were collected today so hopefully it won’t be too long

Whilst waiting for the main drive motors to be fixed and returned from Armortek I have been rearranging the electrics and modules got everything much better spaced out and neater/tidier cabling etc. All working fine now including the recoil with voltage at the drive motor cables. Lights also wired up with electronic switch. I have also put full exponential on the turret turn and elevation sticks as with two stick running this means the first 50% stick movement doesn’t do anything and stops inadvertent commands whilst driving

Mark, enjoyed seeing your videos, it's such an impressive model. The smoker is working well and the track squeak is very authentic. Great stuff.

Could you perhaps have a word with your tank commander and quietly tell him that if he stands on his seat, he'll be marched off to the jail? That was our way on Chieftain, no more than head above the cupola ring when operating opened up. Having said that, Lt Col Bob Foote won a very well deserved VC in the Desert commanding Fourth Tanks in Matildas by standing up in his turret and leading the Regiment into the face of bitter opposition from Rommel's Afrika Korps.

Another Sunday outing for Chieftain at Kinver and West Midlands Society of Model Engineers. Time for a Double Decker for the commander as it’s Hungary work . A change from driving my 5” gauge live steam locomotives
