couple of small details added, the tangent-elevation engraving beside the cone, and the zero line marker board on the shield, also made a firing handle come safety for the blank firer.
I would love to engrave the curved lines on the sighting cone, has anyone an idea how to achieve this, i have left it blank so far, for fear of mucking it up

made a start on the platform, there are a few things that I wanted to change, first i reversed the spokes so that the down angle was to the right, this ment filling the extra hole near the centre and drilling an extra hole near the rim, spokes are a temporary fit while I work on the platform, this has all been soldered together and rivets filed flat, one thing you rarely see on displayed 25 pounders is the degree markers on the platform, with a raised rivet head every 10 degrees on the top edge, so had a go to replicate this

hard to think I was enjoying the sun and walking on the beach in north west wales last week, all back to normal and on with the build, today I made the 6 picket brackets that rivet to the firing platform

These photos just show that these 'kompact' kits can be as much a challenge and impressive as their larger (tracked) cousins!! Details are generally smaller but are in plenty supply all over the kit and: everything is visible.
Tugging at my leash to get building again....

Marcus, Vince thanks for the comments, most of the firing platform completed, put in the 10 and 5 degree marks, not sure if I need to mark the single degrees (288), added the lifting chains, but you do need the turnbuckles to lock the firing platform in the up position

It has been a few days since posting, but I have been busy trying to work out how to make the connecting arms, from the firing platform to the trail, these need to lock rigid when the gun is on the firing platform, unlock and fold while still attached to the trails,when raising to the locked up position, it took sometime to work out using photos, but I got there, I used and modified the arms from the kit, then made the central arms that have cam operated pawls that lock front and rear arms together, and a locking tab at each end, still needs to be cleaned up and painted, this should be the last of any major work the rest is window dressing

well I thought I had finished bashing metal, but realised I had not made the spade box, made from one piece of brass, shaped folded and silver soldered, hinged bolts with wingnuts riveted to the ends and the spacers added to the inside

made a start on the various bits and bobs, started with the tool boxes, as the ones in the kit are solid alloy (good doorstops), I used wood and brass, and also used some fabric to simulate the water proof canvas around the lip of the lid
