Hello Vincent,

Nice, nice, nice! Judged from the videos the links managed the test with flying colors.
Is that you in the video? If so its nice to have a face after all the mails. :)

Your Panther look awesome. Early Ausf G with zimmerit, my era of special interest, well done!
Just one tiny, tiny thing my (by far to much) rivet counter eyes spotted....
The 2 cooling pipes on the LHS exhaust pipe was never on the Ausf G as that problem had been solved by then.
It was still on the early Jagdpanthers but not on the Panther Ausf G.

Looking at your Panther and soon having my own set of your links will hopfully bring back lost inspiration
getting my "pile of Panther parts" into an assembled, running tank.
I am by far the worlds slowest builder....

Kind regards
Kent

At point .39 there is a snap and the tank jerks, it looked to be on the left side, what was the problem will you be testing the tracks off road.

Hello Mark
I have watched the video again and noted that. You are right. I will off the track and see which was going wrong.
At the sence , I heard the snap and I thought it was rough surface or small rock caused. On the wooden floor , I never heard this. I will check and go through detail and let you know soon. As promised if the tracks have any minor defects or not fit for running, I wouldn't deliver to the modellers.
Regards
Vincent

Hallo Vincent,

Very interesting!
My theory is that you clogged stones/concrete bits etc while driving those streets.
Please remember also the real ones had their guidehorns broken occasionly and it was standard procedure checking the tracks daily looking for broken links/trackpins and replace them.
Look at this photo and note the 2 broken guidehorns low between the sprocket and first wheels:

Image

Also we tend to drive and take turns far faster with our models then the original 1:1 was ever designed to manage.
The big German cats wheeknes was their drive train, not only the transmission but also tracks and wheels.
The Pantherfiebel instructed if possible take as wide radius turns as possible and go slow if the turn is sharp as the stress on the wheels/sprocket/tracks are immense.
The same goes for our 1:6 replicas.....
Normaly on the real Panther a clogged stone wouldn't broke a guidehorn but damage the wheel as the wheel made of pressed steel plate is softer then the steel guidehorn.
On our models the wheels are made of solid aluminum and therefore the guidehorns are softer and will suffer.

Just my 10 cent in this.

Kind regards
Kent

Hello Kent
Thank you for advise. The caster suggested that a special treatment can be done to reinforce the siladation of the tracks. Do you think it will be a good solution?

Vincent

The caster just told me the track link is made of carbon steel. And it can be treated for harden...

Won't hardening make it more brittle?

Hello Maarten
Yes! More harden more brittle. But they should know what combination is appropriate. Of course not fragile!

Hi all
Come to production. I will ask the caster to make the track link more solid by 10% of the sample. And the production time take two months. People who still interest please confirm me thro email or PM . And the package including 200 track links , pins and collars. (Spare pins and collars attached) Total weight about 30 KGS. The package cost 550 pounds. And the shipping cost is 220 pounds.Full payment have to pay upon your order. You can pay thro PayPal or bank transfer. I will only produce 30 sets. 7 sets saved for ours panthers. Previous registered people will have the priority . No more will be reproduced since it is time consuming.
Cheers
Vincent

Hello Lewis
I don't know what is the % of carbon in the content. But the caster said he knew what combination is the best .

Hello Vincent, thanks for the info. :D
I was interested in this because a guy called Bruno Arnold made a full 1/6th scale Tiger 1 tank completely out of steel, this included the tracks which where Hardened Steel & they haven't worn away at all.

As I can remember Bob Gold use to own this tank.
Link to Bruno Arnold Channel & his Tiger 1: https://www.youtube.com/user/sainotigre ... shelf_id=0

It would be interesting once its been used for a while on any hard surface if the chevrons wear away or not.

Thanks
