A bit of progress on my FLAK :D

I could make some small details over the last days thanks to the support of some very nice guys 8)

The "spring-locks" of the folding arms are ready and functional working, with a small personnal touch
The Base-Leveler have been a quite fidly piece of work but are ready now as well :D

A small but significant detail is still missing, a proper scale rifle-plug :(
Honestly a bit lazy currently so if I can't manage to create one by myself I'll put a post on the "For sale and wanted" section

Hi Paul,

thanks to your little gift I've seen my fault on the rear tool brackets and have corrected the shape 8)

Hopefully Tims parts will arrive to go ahead as well on that soon :?:

cheers for now and Greetings from Cologne,

Uwe

Hello Simon ,

thanks for "the flowers" :) There's still a long way to get home with my Flak

I have done some small progess again and finished the safety chains for the folding arms.

The Transmission-box for the " Höhenzeiger " out of Tim's Upgrade Sets has been quite nice, but I wanted to have a functional one so I made my own "Version".
Made the box completely new with a worm gear transmission to have some fun by turning the handwheel to adjust the pointer at the desired angle. Small piece but a quite tricky little thing

It's not complete finished yet, the plate for the sight-appart and the little cover
for the lever has to be made...

Next step will be on the dials, let's see if can realize what I've in mind

cheers ,

Uwe

Hi Paul :) ,

I haven't decided yet which it will be. I have to research about the Flak in my "neighbourhood" along the Venloer Strasse direction to Cologne. Would be nice to have an authentic one 8)

The last days inbetween a lot of troubles I disappeared in my workshop again and could do some improvements on the FLAK.

The Höhenrichtanzeige and its transmission is finished. I've made some mods to have it more accurate and functional as per the original.

On the bits and pieces on the cruciform I've started to give some paint and its looking directly better :D

Now I'm busy to collect a the small bits and pieces needed to get my dials working

Hope you like the results so far,

cheers for now,

Uwe

Some small progress on my "never ending story"

Hours later on collecting and searching stuff together, mostly in my "materials collection" I had a start on my first Dial .

Basicly the setup is a sub micro servo "reworked" as the little engine for the double dial clockwork transmission. On my last flight I bought some cheap Kids watches with excellent fitting clockworks

Short version : put it together, got a crisis on the extremely fiddly pointers, the next crisis to get the micro shafts done, made the test,

and....YES it's working  :D :D

So many thanks to Tim Catton to provide me with quite individual Sets to get this crazy idea realized ! 8) :D

So next steps will be to get the housings ready, some suitable LEDs fitted and to find a suitable Glas for the cover (maybe from a microscope?).

The paint of the pointers look awful on the pics, so I need to find out how a "blind-man" could do it better
I'm pretty open for any hint to get these 1,2 mm "monsters" nicer

cheers for now,

Uwe

Hallo Rolf :) ,

wie sagt man so schön, Du wirst alt wie 'ne Kuh, lernst immer noch dazu

Hoffe bei Deiner 88 geht es auch voran, ohne weitere "Unfälle"

Some progress again on the dials housings.

I wanted a KIT Version, I got it, so it takes a bit longer but a good fun and experience :D

Finished now the AL solder-battle, got the brackets made and fixed, and all the small adjustments needed due to the inserts.

Hope to get the replacement watches for the other inserts by the weekend, so to get the dial-inserts with some LED lights ready and fitted.

cheers for now,

Uwe

A very happy new Year 2015 to all on the Forum :!:

After an "endless battle" with my dials I could finish them now fully functional  :D

The main electrical box is installed now as well, just waiting still for some electrical braided hoses made by Panguit. I'll use the Se 12p-Tr0 for the wirings.

Just in time for the christmasbreak I received some Mikes 88mm curved rifle plugs from FOA.
I had to drill out the barrel to 16,0 mm to implement the final made plug, which is indeed a fidly work to calibrate the curved plug
Looks now much better for me :D

Next step is to build up Tims "Zünderstellmaschine" and to make its dials functional as well.

Cheers for now and Greetings from Cologne,

Uwe
