Good job we are inside then! :D

Re the David Render lecture, I have just been told by the museum that you can have a 30% discount off the entrance price. If you have already booked they will refund the difference.

Does anyone know anywhere good to get a Bacon and Egg sandwich on the road to Bovington across the top of Bournemouth on the A31 or past Wimborne on the A35? The only thing that should rumble on Saturday are tank tracks.....

Steve - the best bacon butties in the world used to be had in a layby just north of Bere Regis. Can't vouch for it still being there. You could find half the British Army there ten years ago. See you Saturday. S

Hoping that the traffic is kind as I have to be there and back in time to take the better half to an Eagles concert in the evening, and rebalancing the brownies. Derek if you are leaving at 5:30, perhaps I need to re-think my departure, roadworks all the way, A12, M25 north and south, must be some somewhere else, and there's the A31, what joy...... At least it is just me and no tank in a small nippy little car, what I really need is a helicopter.....

See you all at Bovington

Kevin,

I bet you could get to Portsmouth faster than I could, and I'm already on the mainland. Why Portsmoth, can you not get a ferry direct to Poole or do you have to go Jersey for that? Or the cost, I know last time I had to get back to the mainland after a race the cost was so stupid, It was cheaper park the car in Gosport at the marina and fly back from Jersey to Southhampton and get a cab back to the car. Saved £150 by doing that.

Hi Gary
Yes, there are various options but the only guaranteed way on and off the Island is the good old fashioned ro-ro ferry to Portsmouth. Not affected by fog like the planes, nor by wave height which can delay or cancel the highfspeed catamarans.
On this occasion, timings suited us. Straight from the office to the boat, it's a 13 hour journey via Jersey, but dinner and breakfast on board and a half decent kip in a private cabin. Got off this morning fresh and with quiet roads ahead - just stopped for coffee.
As a yottie myself, very well aware of the issues getting back and forth from various finish lines!
May meet you later?
Kevin

I HAVE RAMPS IN THE CAR AND CHARGER IF NEEDED.

Got here Friday evening. German armour is gathering on a large scale assault on the small allied force.
