Hi All,

The builders are done, I've finished decorating, laying carpet, building furniture and unpacking all the stuff I have accumulated.

Now back to the model making...........................

Not a lot to show but got the ammo tubes for the M7 painted this weekend and marked up using the stamps Tim got for me.

Hopefully over the next few weeks I will get back into full swing.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

First full day back at model making and not unproductive. Got the rear plate of the M7 detailed. Exhausts, Air cleaners and Tow hitch extender are from East Coast Armory, tow hitch is mine (and incedently the first Armorpax part I ever made!!!!).

Its soooooooo nice working in a clean, organised and bright workshop thats not threatening to fall down at any moment.

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Started adding casting numbers and details to the Armortek bogeys and transmission cover casting. Just a little more work on the lower hull then apart from the gun shield it will be ready to paint.

Cheers

Dave

Hi All

I can't get my head round where to start the gunshield at the moment so have stripped down and started painting the lower hull. Base colours done on the drivers compartment and the bogey frames are primed and painted.

If I have a good run at it this week I may get most of the M7 in base colours.

Best regards

Dave

Hi Dave.

Wow this just looks better and better with every post a few fake oil stains on the floor and a close up shot of the interior will look just like the real thing.
Oustanding model well done.

Hi All,

Barring the gun (which still needs its shield adding) and the remaining bogey components, which I'm stll detailing, the M7 is in its base colours.

Best regards

Dave

Simply stunning work Dave.

Get the tracks on and get it out in the real world and it won't be possible to tell it's a model.

One thing left to do on the bogies, before you put the tracks on - replace the cap head bolts on the ends of the return roller shafts. Otherwise the track horns will catch on the cap heads.

I countersunk the holes in the ends of the shafts and used CSK screws - it makes it look a whole load more prototypical.

Hi All,

Running gear now painted and fully re-assembled. Last minute mod made to the return roller fixings to prevent the cap heads fouling the track horns (Thanks Lee and Adrian).................won't mention how much swearing went on trying to get the rear fixings back in.

Also got the additional springs fitted inside the volutes. It is easy when you have the right size springs

Best regards

Dave

Hi All,

Basic markings applied (still no gunshield though).

Started making the bespoke stencils I need. M7 will be 152nd Field Regiment RA, 6th Armoured Div.
