I've found some pictures of KT 213 on the net, black & white where still some original camo is visible.Just the front but it's a start...
I want to order some extra parts to but i lost my job a month ago so...
A lot of money goes to the shed asswell.Some windows a door and a roof are expensive...
On the roof come solarpanels (not cheap neither)

The treatment is taking a lot of time but its going to be worth it...
Looking for some extra info and details isn't easy either...

I've found a lot of info in the book of Waldemar Trojca/Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf. B Königstiger TECHNIK und EINSATZGESCHICHTE
Its in German but i think there are English versions to.

Panzewrecks also has a lot of pictures but its of all sorts of German Armor.

that book is worth its weight in gold m8.
I have it, and also Per Sonnervik showed me his trumpeter 1/16 KT and i must say its a well done model to have as a reference.
Thinking of buying it thats hiow good it is .

Still managed to do one idlerwheel.
To bad the mr.surfacer removed most of it, but still I know its there .

Huh.....Ouch!!!
Loads of filling with ceramic metal here it seems.

And the surrounding area where the conehead bolts are is oval didnt noticed it until now.

Nice workplace you have there...
I had to spraypaint mine in the garage and i know where the feeling comes from.
The airbrushfumes (probably wrong written) went to my head and stomach .Your head is spinning but its not in 7th heaven ...
And the stomach...you don't feel hungry no more...

To be more healthy i brought the whole thing out until i had to escape the rain,Belgian weather...

I still keep wondering how you can keep up the speed and avoid your wife's reactions

Well Sven im only working at half pace atm, have to as im having radaition treatment for a couple of weeks.
You should see me at full pace
Well here is som pics of the mantlet i started last nite.

First i tapped 3 3mm caps to hold the ceramic in place and for firmness. and ofcourse the tap broke

1st layer with very smelly plastic padding ceramic metal. My wife was about to kill me at 23:00h.

Same but from behind.

Sanded down to correct thickness and a new coat applied to even out any misses.

AS you see from the inside had to fill out quite alot and i wonder if it will hold on the thinner side. But time will tell.


Progress later tonite, hopefully Kent treated and Mr.surfaced then .

just like to say excellent work, an inspiration to us all, just one thing i would not fit the bearings if your going to use the dremel to grind as all those filings are falling in to the bearing and they will soon fail, the bearings have a dust seal but wont keep all the dirt out,
keep up the great work, chris.

The ball bearings i can change and i usually cover em up.

Fun as hell atm, wish i could zip a pint or two.
Waiting on Mikes Zim tools as thats next. And in between ill go for some small parts.
Ill leave the big ones as the vents and the air intakes for later.
As i will prolly will redo the whole backside of the tank.
We swedes have thought it over how to redo it and will hopefully come up with a correct and good solution, might take years thou but in the end worth it hehe.
Stefan is the Machine Expert, Per is the Rivet Counter and expert, me im just the average........hmmmmm.
Dunno really hihi well im a tech freak. Just lets leave it at that .
So i hope my build make some heads turn and mabey someone have someways of saying this and that.
Alwyas good to have feedback, if i do things way wrong.

Hehe yes Dale the Turret is a massive piece, was kinda stunned thou how big the cat were when the tracks went on .
We have nice and warm weather here today so i think ill spray my other wheels .
And yes again, the mr surfacer is on spraycans. Easy to work small areas at a time with. It gives a even layer that you can staple when it have dried for a little time.
Dale i really am dying to see the sherman, but as you wrote no stress on the painter
