Been stitching and don't mind saying it's a difficult job one of the most awkward and complex I've ever made in woven material.
I'm off topping a couple of fields now as it's still cool on this Sunday morning.

Took some dimensions from the front of the mantlet ( all guess work I hasten to add ) and made the patterns for the square to square to round front piece, also finished up the conduit to the head light bowls.

The stain arrived for the canvas so I couldn't resist a quick " look see" . I want lots of saggy creases and I'm getting the beginnings of, just need to keep teasing the fabric until , like a hair style, it stays in place.

Spent the afternoon cutting and stitching the gusset piece but to no avail as the look didn't pass muster, it will have to be unpicked and another material sourced.
