Let there be light said the electrician!
It's so tempting bang a COB lamp in the projector lamp housing, (The New hand held torches at work are blinding), I'll be on the look out for an old style rubber torch reflector and lens.
Self opening door would look classy via small servo behind reflector. Access from the rear and an opportunity to reduce the weight of the projector housing lump too.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
Found an old rubber Ever ready torch in the shed!
It's close, but I'll still be on the look out for something a little bigger.
COB torches are so tempting, but the reflectors are usually small in diameter, marrying technology maybe.
The whole detailing bit on the projector make it look so much better, excellent work Phil.

That's not far off John, we still need some photographs for all internal detail fittings as well!

Phil, There's three pictures of the Light Projector in Chieftain, modern combat vehicles 1 by George Forty.
Projector Closed, Infra red filter present and white light only. Hope this helps.
Should be fun trying to get the doors and filter to work.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
How to detail the light projector rear for those who have never done it before. You could use metal sheet instead of plasticard but as this has a rigid backing support its just fine, and it's really easy to work

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
Another of your mini master classes which makes it look so simple Phil. I have to say that the change in appearance of that projector housing rear end is striking. Just adding such simple extras lifts this model to a different level.
Thanks for posting, we are all following in awe.

Re: Chieftain build by Phil Woollard.
Busy day but enjoyable all the same, I thought I was just about finished with the outside of the light projector unit but I was wrong. Thanks to Malcolm Moananui for some cool photos that he sent me.
