Today I have made a start on the armour sides, basically cutting the large plate into the smaller plates much like the real thing. I find when you are doing such modifications it often seems like you take 3 steps forward and 2 steps back, the knock on effects can be troublesome but you work your way round them.

I've soldered the joins for strength and then filed back to a sharp square butt joint. The solder fillet is then hidden inside.

There is no way the fuel tank ( which is really ment for the Ghost chassis) is going to fit inside the armour plate box which surrounds it, the fuel tank is some 15mm to large. I will need to cut that much away from the rear of the fuel tank and reshape it.

I have noticed that the rear ride height was a tad low, the rear spring sets seemed a little weak, so as the front spring sets seemed a bit hard I have transferred two leaves per side to the rear and so equaled it all up, the chassis now sits level even with the batteries installed.

I'm so glad that you like it Phil as you have to look at it every day when it's all finished! I think it's very close to Tigris. I'm not keen on woodwork but I have enjoyed this aspect of the build. 8)
