Both look good but if you had the BV full of boiling water, you were hardly likely to open the lid due to the steam and if you suddenly hit a bump, scalding hot water flying everywhere.
Best would be the top depicting the BV insert about 80% full of water and four compo cans sticking out, 60% and 3 cans, 40% and 2 cans.

Lid was opened to fill with cold water, put food in or take it out.

And the thinner wire is too glossy. The previous wire had the perfect colour.

I'm going to have to complain to Ebay that that they don't do the right size wire in the right colour/sheen You won't get the wire with it anyway so you pick your own colours. I' can't now see the point in sodding about with thin detail castings making my own life difficult for no real reason so I'll be redoing the master with a closed lid. The BV will be a solid resin casting.

Dave, do you ever get the feeling a little knowledge is a dangerous thing? Your work on the Chieftain parts is exceptional craftsmanship and well worthy of the model itself. Crack on and give us all more to admire and buy. I loved your Mulligatawny anyway and the other bits. I couldn't pass by though without sparing a thought for our old friend Mr Larkspur. Long time no see........

Ditto Dave even if your not doing the Stillbrew! Am I the only one that would like Clansman? Having trained to repair both of them, I do need a Clansman version for my model if at all possible please?

Agreed. The conversion from Larkspur to Clansman was done during Base Overhaul over a period Starting in 1976, so both are appropriate. My long-standing request to Dave to do Larkspur is for my Centurion. Dave already does a Clansman antenna base, so if he were to give us a full house, it would be for Larkspur antenna base and commander and operator ancillaries for both. For Larkspur, that would include two types of breastplate, headphones and mike. For Clansman, we initially used the pressel unit and Headset, VRC (aka Staff User Headset) with attached boom mike, then the Helmet Crewman AFV (which Dave’s already onto), and finally the Headset, A Vehicle, with protective shell. I don’t think the latter would be either necessary or easy to do but that’s a decision for Dave to consider. Whatever Dave produces will be outstanding and beyond what most of us can achieve. I've painted the lead and added a couple of yellow sleeves to each which appear on a number of on-line pics of leads. Based on the Marks post I can't see many people realistically having the BV open so will produce a solid version unless anyone feels an opening version is wanted?

I'm going to start making some new moulds tomorrow based on my own Clansman aerial base and the new master for the Larkspur base sent to me by Stephen. The aim is to offer both mounts with with a black flexible resin section to represent the original rubber portion. My current base is the MK6 with quick release for the rod, can anyone confirm please that the MK2 will be more suitable for Chieftain similar to the wing nut retainer on Larkspur. I have also started work on the BCF extinguisher bracket and hope to have that done in the next week. I will then turn my attention to the GPMG mount for the cupola.

The other parts planned when I can get time are the Wiper assemblies for the cupola, the commanders searchlight, Clansman commanders breast plate (Larkspur already done) and the Bone dome. I will be doing the Larkspur handset for Cent owners.

Re the BV, closed suits me but I’ll go with the flow. Looking forward to seeing the other projects as you get to them.
Also nice to know there’s some Cent stuff in the mix.

Great job with the BV but surely it lives internally and so would not be seen on the Chieftain unless your doing a full interior.

Excellent work on the BV Dave, this would be an excellent addition to any model especially if one can open and close the lid regardless of jobsworth regs.
